Worth it?
We went out again last night with a different FC driver and both him and me were apparently throwing majestic flames out the ass as we passed the 20-under drunk rednecks. Was amazing fun.
Downside is i finally lost my throwout bearing, good thing i have a new clutch sitting next to me ready to go in. Bad thing is i have to wait a week for the special gear oil i ordered to get here. Kinda funny that everyone disses rotaries and yet the clutch was the first to go on mine :P
So i told cr-v bro that the only real hard part about manual is starting on a hill.
"So i hope you dont want to drive up any hills then"
hes so fucking stupid it makes me want to rip my eyes out, he thinks you cant drive up a hill with a manual transmission.
I CANT EXPLAIN IT
he drove up a sandy hill in his crv
and then gives me this smug ass look
SO WHAT IF YOU NEED TO DO THAT IN A MANUAL BRO?

Hah, It's not even difficult either.
I signed my first V5C, I'm now the registered keeper of my first car, yay. I think my next car will be a Toyota Hilux or similar Dual-Cab pickup, preferably manual with a ~3L Diesel.
I know I'm not a regular here, but I know you guys will share my pain.
This is a moral tale on never letting your mother drive your car :(

Long story short mum pulled out onto an island, someone further round pulled out into the side of her. Neither of them saw it coming or thought to brake or take evasive action it seems. Both doors are beyond a reskin since the rebars have buckled inside, the front wing is obviously beyond a bit of tcut, the bumper is smashed the front headlight and all its mountings are broken, several parts of the steering are bent, the alloys are gouged pretty deeply and the rear quarter is going to take some serious filling. The bonnet has also twisted and I haven't had chance to find out if the chasis has twisted yet. Fingers crossed for not.

An alignment, some new blue doors from a scrapyard, new front fender, new headlight, bend the hood a bit, and it'll be fine. If the unibody is tweaked it's not gonna be tweaked enough to make the car a hazard to drive.
Let's hope the insurance sees it that way.

Indeed, currently arguing it out with them. Fortunately there were some police that saw the incident and made a statement saying it wasn't my mums fault, so for once they aren't being too arsey, but I'd put money on them at least trying to write it off. I know a reasonable repair center round here and I'm going to get them to assess it instead of letting the insurance send someone.
Is this street legal in the U.S.?

tbh up until a few months ago i thought apex seals were a joke like blinker fluid or something because apex to me was that red and white shit on the corners of race tracks

:v:
It is but I wouldn't try driving something like that on the street. That one's beyond the point of 'streetable' I think.
It is, however, easily restorable. It doesn't look to have been modified too badly in the name of drag racing, so if you wanted to buy it and restore it back into a workable pickup with a big block it'd be easy to do. I'd buy it if I were in the market for a project truck.

Insurance companies are a pain in the ass sometimes. I don't even have full coverage on my ride because of that, slightest dent would cause them to write the whole thing off at this point.
Good idea getting a reasonable shop to assess it. Sometimes insurance adjusters will choose the priciest shop they can.
I would be concerned about the title. But for the truck, yup.
herp derp how is everyone's easter sunday going?
I was chilling at my shop and then this shit pulled up

The red and white stuff is curbing, the apex is the middle of a corner, where you touch the inside for the best line.
I love this sound

Ok so I deliver pizza, if any of you remember, and now I've been really strapped on cash a lot recently. I need money to sustain me in college until I get a job up there. So I've been thinking about getting another job. My friend works at a gelato place like 10-15 min from me and I could maybe get a job there. I'm just worried about having no free time
So what do I do? I know it's not car related but i like it here so yeah. No wait the money can be used for a car!

Where the FUCK can I get the spedo on my windshield
my music won't play through my passenger side speakers at all, and I can't remember if it was like that when I bought it. Either way this could get really complicated.
Where the FUCK can I get the spedo on my windshield
There are aftermarket HUDs that you cut/glue into your dashboard, which plug into the OBD port.

When I bought my car, none of the speakers in any of the doors worked. I replaced the speakers with $20 speakers from Wal-Mart after prying off the plastic on the interior. Worked like a charm after that.
If there's a break in the wiring, then yeah you're fucked. :v:
or are going to spend a good few hours trying to pull some new wire through all the existing panels and holes. That will be fun :v:
I'd start with a continuity test on the wiring.

Now i wish i had OBD II, or for that matter, any obd.
I can just feel my money being taken from my wallet for that HUD, new Radio, and 4-new tires.

I vividly remember seeing a much cheaper model (i.e. 99$) here : http://www.plasmaglow.com/
However it seems it must've been taken out of the website, You can look there and you might find it.
They also have some cool stuff there as well.

That ain't no hemi, look at the intake manifold and valve covers. Hemi had I-E-I-E-I-E-I-E and the RB dodge had E-I-I-E-E-I-I-E
I being intake and E being exhaust
Another major tell is that the hemi had the spark plugs right through the valve covers.
