cant we just pretend its a hemi and all circle jerk
They say it is, what it isnt. So by that logic - Its a hemi
That ain't no hemi, look at the intake manifold and valve covers. Hemi had I-E-I-E-I-E-I-E and the RB dodge had E-I-I-E-E-I-I-E I being intake and E being exhaust Another major tell is that the hemi had the spark plugs right through the valve covers.
I ask one thing: Who cares?! It's 540 cubic inches, it sounds fucking awesome, it will liquify your Pirellis faster than you can say "Holy shit look at the gas gauge drop!", and it's a V8.
herp derp how is everyone's easter sunday going? I was chilling at my shop and then this shit pulled up And here's under the hood, 540 cubic inches of big block Hemi Mopar.
Heh, badass. Pass everything but a gas station. I also love how the engine isn't a sea of fucking chrome, which is nice. Built to be run. Please tell me he's got a proper gearbox in that thing.....
Now i wish i had OBD II, or for that matter, any obd.
....careful what you wish for. OBD II works okay for the most part, bitch to work on when it does fail but reliable enough. OBD I? Holy fucking fagballs it's a pain in the ass. I'm going to downgrade mine from OBD-I to no-OBD-at-all. Fucking EEC-IV electronic carburettor garbage... ...put it to you this way: My ECU forgets that engines need spark advance, and then remembers they do...and then forgets again...and then remembers again. This is a large problem since I have no vacuum or mechanical advance on my dizzy, it's ALL done through the computer. It can happen over a timespan as short as a few seconds. It's really bloody annoying, and the only two solutions are to replace ALLLLLLLL the electronics, to the tune of about $1200, or convert it to a duraspark II system, replacing the current dizzy with an old vac/mech advance points dizzy that's had a hall effect conversion installed, to the tune of about $200. Converting to the duraspark II system also lets me choose from any variety of aftermarket ignition boxes, so long as they support even-fire six cylinders, providing I can afford one. Most do, including the Accel 300 and MSD 6AL I'm looking at.
SHES DIRTY FELLAS. >4lo sandpile climb crv bro is convinced that manual is master race on dirt now >mud puddle romp i lost my mirror, found it later Gas tank has sprung a leak though, siezed bolts at 2AM? lets hope she doesnt go empty over night *sigh*

Mmmm, it may not be all that fast(N/A 2.3L I5? LOL no power), but if that engine is in good kit and firing on all five it should sound bloody awesome. Should be pretty reliable too. My main concerns would be prices for parts. German cars tend to cost a fortune to maintain and repair over here.

Heck, if I could turn it into a project and put a 20v in it, which would bring HP up to 168. Could also add quattro for maximum rally tyteness.
It's got a 131 HP, which isn't bad when its pushing a 2500lb car.
It's got the aerodyamics of a cinder block and I doubt it's got much more torque than it has HP. In it's current form it's not going to be 'fast'. Itt'l be faster than anything I've got, I'll admit. But it won't be 'fast'.
Heck, if I could turn it into a project and put a 20v in it, which would bring HP up to 168.
Stuff like this would remedy it though. You could even look into boosting it somehow, I've heard some of the WRC quattros and they sounded like lambos...and accelerated just about as fast as one.
Could also add quattro for maximum rally tyteness.
Mmm, that would probably be the first thing I retrofit if I bought it.
Don't think everyone seen the post but we got the Coronet going, 547 cui through 2.5 inch tubes into a 4 inch collector and dual flowmasters sounds fucking meeeeeean. Was running like shit at the time, better video when I can get it. Also I'm looking into turboing and maybe restoring the rampage, going to a pick a part tomorrow to look for a complete 2.2 turbo to swap into or onto the rampage.I'm thinking though if I'm going to go through all the work why not rwd swap the thing with a 318.
Gave some thought, the commanche is having its first time sitting with a FULL tank of gas atm. Possible it has had a hole in it for a while, other time i filled it i put ~100 miles on it and used most of it in a day. And when we led the guy to my house (he drove the jeep down for us) he only got like 1/2-3/4 of a tank at the gas station :v: [editline]9th April 2012[/editline] what i mean is that the hole is up high on the tank like, so it only will leak when its full (Fingers crossed lol) [editline]9th April 2012[/editline] Oh and I need to get a snorkel lol
Anyone ever had a blowout whilst on the motorway? Happened yesterday afternoon, pretty scary sitch as was doing just over 85. Rear left blew and the car pulled hard to the left but managed to catch it and avoid sideswiping a van. Changing wheels on the hard shoulder in the rain ftw!

Same guy has another hemi charger, this is just a 540. That was just a flaw in my brain for being super tired. I've caught up on sleep now, though. I passed out for 16 hours and I woke up just now in time to open the shop. Thanks for catching that. [editline]9th April 2012[/editline] And yeah, Testicleface, of course it's got a proper gearbox, A833 4-speed manual. :P
There are aftermarket HUDs that you cut/glue into your dashboard, which plug into the OBD port. http://6litereaterdesigns.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=244
won't that give a distorted view in the day or when it's raining and stuff? Since original installed HUDs are installed together with a special part in the windscreen..
won't that give a distorted view in the day or when it's raining and stuff? Since original installed HUDs are installed together with a special part in the windscreen..
Kits like those usually come with a transparent layer to stick on your windshield for proper display. Makes the same shit as OEM ones, without that fancy expensive windshield.

Didn't inspect your tyres? I changed on to a spare, the tread was peeling away on the inside (Out of site) and I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't been repairing the exhaust heat shield and doing my usual paranoid checking.
Didn't inspect your tyres?
Sometimes tires fail because of defects you can't detect with a driveway inspection. Random blowouts do happen. It may also have been roadway debris.
And yeah, Testicleface, of course it's got a proper gearbox, A833 4-speed manual. :P
Most excellent. That thing must be an absolute blast to drive when the secondaries open :v:
-words-
I'm kinda new to the car board so you probably don't know me but I hope everything works out for you and her :)

Especially since many had turbos on them. the only problem is it is horizontally mounted for fwd vs audi's rwd.
Most excellent. That thing must be an absolute blast to drive when the secondaries open :v:
I wouldn't know, my dad's been hogging it since it's been here. Every little time it needs moved I'm like "Oka--" and then I hear it fire up and he's already in it. It's great. He's a total mopar guy and it's his favorite color, so he adores the thing.
Talked to the guy selling the Audi. Going to look at/possibly buy it Thursday. Feels good man.

Tire blew, she managed to control it, then we had to unpack the back (completely full) to get the spare out, a cop helped us do heavy lifting since she had a 200 LB TV in the back. Good times, Good times.
Talked to the dealer selling the red sil80. Bastard wants hard cash only, won't accept bank loans. Besides, the car's completely stock aside from some ricer visual updates. :(
Most people that sell their cars only want cash, good luck trying to buy their cars with anything else
How much horsepower would you say the average high-school pony car has? I want to know how far I need to go for when tuning the 86 i'm really planning on buying.
