How much horsepower would you say the average high-school pony car has? I want to know how far I need to go for when tuning the 86 i'm really planning on buying.
What.
How much horsepower would you say the average high-school pony car has? I want to know how far I need to go for when tuning the 86 i'm really planning on buying.
Given how most of them at my school didn't even fire on all six cylinders most of the time I'd say around 80-120. The ones that do fire on all six are in the 140-160 area. There were about three or four pony cars that had an eight, but they were by far the 1%.
I guess the stock 4A-GE would do just fine for these purposes then. I'll definitely be going NA though.
Pony car as in cheap muscle car? What are you saying
Pony car as in cheap muscle car? What are you saying
The "Daddy bought me a Mustang" car.
Ohhhhhhhhhh. It'll be around 200hp
well if you're a koenigsegg i don't see the problem?!?
4x4ing videos incoming
Went to look at that Audi today. It's got a couple electrical problems. The dash backlight doesn't work and the wire to the fuel pump is loose, but mechanically the thing is in tip-top shape. My friend informed me that all German cars have a shitload of wiring problems, and that if I got this car I'd just be dealing with shit not working over and over and using it as a daily driver is a bad idea. That, and I surmised on my own that this car wouldn't be incredibly fast/good handling/good looking (well, in the opinions of other people at least). Yet, I still want it. So here's the deal: I need advice from anyone here who owns an old German car. Are all the wiring problems real or just a myth? Is there anything else I need to know about cars like this?
Ohhhhhhhhhh. It'll be around 200hp
Thanks, in case some punk kid decides to call me out i'll be able to whoop his ass with only a straight 4!

Otherwise it was a great car, but it was a '94 I think, so they might have sorted out any electrical problems by then.
you do know ae86's are slow as fuck right? initial D has misled you
I found a 240 being sold for $500 straight. Doesn't have front lip because JDM tite. Unfortunately Craigslist people take forever to reply to emails or answer phones: I've been calling all yesterday and today, no reply. Also I emailed the guy selling this 300ZX and no reply as well. Why put up an ad when you wont pick up potential buyers. >.>
you do know ae86's are slow as fuck right? initial D has misled you
In his case, it's Takumi's nerdy friend who bought an NA 85 and got rejected the night he was about to get laid
is it a 5-speed?
is it a 5-speed?
KA24DE. Welded diff
KA24DE. Welded diff
So you know, pushing a welded diff car up an incline, like a driveway or trailer ramp, then turning even a little bit makes it satanistically difficult to push, learned from experience with a 240Z race car, much less a heavy in comparison road car. But other than that, sounds badass.
You're gonna have to spends shitloads to get your gutless 86 anywhere near my goat.
Ha! We'll see about that!
you do know ae86's are slow as fuck right? initial D has misled you
I've loved the 86 for years but for other reasons, only recently did i watch Initial D and I think it got crappy after the first season (Stage or whatever they called it) One of the reasons I love it is that everyone always judges it, but its always kicked ass when in the right hands. I also love how it looks. Also, it was a real machine when it was made, it progress good through the ranges, it corners well and is a real blast to drive even today The 4A-GE has real potential and I know I can definitely get it up to almost 300BHP or mid 200's with NA.

Let's settle it.
Do you have Forza 4 and Xbox Live? Let's settle it.
Nah, PC only, why would I pay to play online if i'm already paying for internet? My hands have only agreed with controllers up to PS1 or N64 anyway, everything else just feels weird. I'd love to race but maybe some other way? Also, the 86 is by no means my favorite car in the world, its just my choice for a starter car. My favorite car which i have no hope in ever obtaining is the Koenigsegg Agera R However my first barely fesable favorite is the most recent Aston Martin V12 Vantage. Next would be the R34 GTR tied with the EVO IV Other notables would be... well here's a list with paint jobs in parentheses 79' Volvo 242 Turbo (Eggshell White) 87' 3-Series (Gulf) 85' Benz 300CD Turbodiesel (Merc Silver) 72' Datsun 240Z (Baby Blue) 04' Subaru Impreza WRX STI (Brightest Blue) 93' Mini Moke (Dark Green) 08' Dodge Challenger SRT8 (Flat Black) 73' Skyline GTR --' Ferrari Any Tb/Tr (Ferrari Red) 93' Mazda Autozam AZ-1 Some of these are joke cars in reality but cars I would still love to own.
I can't think of any PC sims with both cars. I do have LFS and a G27, though.

You'll have a little bit of trouble with it if it's already showing, but getting it fixed (the hard part) is the last you'll probably see of it. I say go for it. And after you get it, dress it in full rally getup.
>> Driving at 40mph in 30 and grand prix GT over takes me then gets back in my lane >> im in grand prix SE so i over take him and get back in my lane >> grand prix GT gets into lane next to me and lines up gives me thumbs up and at light he turned other way >> U turn came up and some volkswagen takes off thinking im trying to race him cause i made my front wheels squeel at the turn. Also, this was in my manual (I lol'd at fuel cost)
1989 S13 with engine knock/lost power for $1000. Worth it? 5-speed, KA24E. Probably would spend whole lot on it
Do you have Forza 4 and Xbox Live? Let's settle it.
i have forza 4. how often do you play?
Where are most of the problems? The soldering, the wires themselves, or the chips?
connections sometimes, relays too. That's about it. Components (chips, etc) and soldering is usually pretty good.
My friend is really against this. He keeps telling me to buy a fucking turd-gen firebird formula or something like that instead. http://lancaster.craigslist.org/cto/2875937758.html I can perhaps understand why he'd not want me to have this car, but I'd need a better alternative than a turd-gen.
