:( Y u no sell to person who could fix it
I wish Criterion never changed the sounds in the cars in burnout. The used to be so much sexier with much harder gear changes that gave me a raging boner back in 08. Especially the Hotrod and Annihilator.
So uh, I've got a 2000 miata and a 98 jeep gran cherokee loredo with 240k miles. I want to sell both and get a more practical commuter car because I'm going back to school and will be driving half an hour each way. I've got my motorbike so I'll ride that most of the time but I want to sell my cars and get something better. I have driven manuals my whole life but for the first time I'm considering getting something with an automatic which (hopefully although not importantly) has a + or - or something to switch when I need it. Anywho, the miatas got a hole in the top :( cause its the original top and is in need of replacement. But I don't know if its worth replacing it before I try to sell the car or not. I dunno. I love the miata very much but I want a good sedan/hatch or something with decent power but I'm more concerned with getting a nice comfy good gas mileage car. I probably would consider getting a 10,000-15,000 dollar car. I've considered a BMW or a Subaru something. I can probably afford a newer car. But Its gotta be decent in snow. My schools in an area where during winter there is almost always snow. What do?

What do?
Don't bother with automatics that have the shift up and down on the lever, because most of them suck and will shift automatically if you scare it with high rpms. Also, what you seem to be asking for is gonna be tricky to find. More comfy cars are usually larger and bad in snow. Cars with good MPG tend to be slower, smaller, and/or less comfortable. You gotta compromise somewhere.
-sic- What do?
Forget all that and just sell the Cherokee for enough money for this : http://staceydavid.com/projects/banshee and for snow just use snow tires. Way cooler and you get to keep your old ride! (I know the car used is a 1st gen but maybe you can just work it out with the 2000's one)
So ehh... Got my exhaust leak fixed, got my summer tires on, re-cleaned and painted my calipers and strut bar, and now I have to get 3 link-kits and 1 sway bar. Surprises!
Did you run over someone?

Because if theres one thing I can't stand is when you're going up a hill and an automatic car either won't shift down at all unless you stomp on the gas or when you do it goes down three gears and ruins my mileage. I get what you're saying, so that's why I figured some sedan or something that I can equip with snow tires. I think this is coming from a notion where I'm "growing up" in a way. I am less interested in having a manual quick/sporty car as I am practicality. Like the jeep is a fantastic car, comfortable, safe and has 5 seats. But the issue is Its so slow and gets such bad gas mileage that it's so awful to spend 70 bucks on gas to do anything. And the miata is awesome too. I really really really like it and its fun to drive, is good on gas. But also almost useless in a way. Like say i'm hanging out with a friend and one other friend wants to come along. Too bad. Two seats. Or lets say it is icy outside. Nope, spin out.
:( Y u no sell to person who could fix it
Transmission was going bad, brakes shot, and it needed a complete exhaust rebuilt. aka - More $ in parts then what the car will ever be worth.. the engine was fine though - a 5L V8 EFI

Also, the last one I can agree with... a lot. I keep looking for something old, cheap, and running. 90% of the cars that fall under that category are trucks.

Am I the only one who's looking forward to the brand new 918? It's going to be promising.
Wow, Porchse first started with no door handles, no radios or a/c. Now no front bumper cover or rear top or rear bumper. Whats next? No tires included with purchase? :v:
I have a 1991 Mercedes 300ce and my parents have put $8,500 on it over the last year, with another $2000 minimum coming up soon. I would much rather have bought a newer car for that much money. How can I talk some sense into them?
What the hell kind of new car would you get with $10,500?
I would much rather have bought a newer car for that much money.

What the hell kind of new car would you get with $10,500?
He didn't say new, he just meant newer than his '91 benz.
He didn't say new, he just meant newer than his '91 benz.
Well, either way, newer =/= more reliable.
Well, either way, newer =/= more reliable.
BUT OLD CARS ARE BAD I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I DRIVE MINE EVERY THURSDAY TO PICK MY KIDS UP FROM SOCCER PRACTICE
He didn't say new, he just meant newer than his '91 benz.
i think he should keep the benz. it'll probably outlast him and his kids, if they take care of it.
i think he should keep the benz. it'll probably outlast him and his kids, if they take care of it.
After spending that much on it, I'd hope it would.

I went to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI today as part of a field trip with my AP History class. Of course my first order of business was to check out the car history. Brought home a few pics you guys might like. Sorry for the last two images being blurry; My phone doesn't have a flash so when the lighting is off, pictures turn out really blurry. By museum opening, the car is fully disassembled and throughout the day, they completely reassemble it. After closing, they disassemble it again to be ready for the next day. [img_thumb]http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/8564/img20120412121058.jpg[/img_thumb] [editline]12th April 2012[/editline] I should also note that even though it's called the Henry Ford Museum, everything inside isn't necessarily Ford related. They had a '65 Pontiac GTO there too, but I forgot to take a picture. And yes, in the back of the rotary image, there is a Chrysler Turbine car.

The gypsy-blooded dork at the top of my cul-de-sac has managed to rip my driver side wing mirror off through the night. With either his: LWB Transit Van, LWB Transit based pickup, Peugeot 807. Seriously. Who moves to the top of a cul-de-sac if they own massive work vehicles? I'm now parking with half the car on the pavement, bringing the car in by about a foot. The war is on, Bring on the Ram. :v:
