Seriously, i dont get that. How is the brake booster connected with the engine itself ? and why does it do that ? that makes no sense
brake booster uses vacuum from the engine to help you brake
it is basically a big diaphragm
What are you guy's views on fully digital dashboards.. I want one so badly. (mostly because my gas gauge is so inaccurate.)
I feel your pain I have a 99 GASE and the gas gauge is painfully inaccurate Oh your on a 5Deg hill? you have no gas I'm going to turn on the gas light and ping at you for a while you've got off the hill? suddenly you have a 1/4th of a tank you've been driving for 10 minutes? guess what 1/2 tank for you you've gone 20 miles? back down to empty I go it's so bad that I keep a notebook in my car as a backup measure for when the gas gauge lies to me
Seriously, i dont get that. How is the brake booster connected with the engine itself ? and why does it do that ? that makes no sense
It draws engine vacuum. A lot of it. When it's drawing a lot of vacuum the engine has less air intake because of it, causing it to idle lower.
Holy fuck, If this car stays avaiable for the next two weeks It's literally mine. 2003 Crown Vic with Police Interceptor package. It's completely clean and carfax is perfect and literally saying it's worth over 6-7k. The original owners did regular maintenance on it so says the carfax. Body looks in great shape from pictures only one ding i could point out on back bumper. Can pick it up for 4k cash right out the door. Whiter then me too, I like white cars when the body isn't fucked up. Gotta read the carfax cause looks like new headlights even from how clean they are. As much as i want a grand prix gtp a crown vic in this condition for that price You can't turn down.
Thought about that car as well. There are some nice deals around me at that price range. My dad used to be a cop so he warned me about getting one. Back in the country, you'd get blasted by AK's even if you aren't a cop D:
>get in car today, excited to finally be able to drive without a metallic rattling sound coming from the engine bay >start car, drive out of parking lot >mfw when I hear the rattling sound >fuck So turns out the hood rod had nothing to do with the sound, either that or it fucked something up while it was hanging in the engine bay
Check the Heatshields in the engine bay they make a lot noise
Yeah, it's either that or I need a new timing belt tensioner [editline]13th April 2012[/editline] After a bit of research, I really hope it's just a heat shield. If not, then I have to replace a bunch of other stuff. [editline]13th April 2012[/editline] Welp, it's not the heat shields. Goodbye diy work, hello expensive repairs
Does anyone know where I could find a hood for my '67 F-100? Google has provided me with nothing.
I really want a chevy s10.. Just, less boring wheels, maybe the zq8's if I can find them
While in Cuba for a week, we went on a tour of some nearby areas (The city of Moron, some smaller villages and a few touristy places). I was impressed to see the old cars still running and (Sometimes) looking like new. Especially in a place like Cuba where getting parts would be tricky, expensive, impossible or a combination of those. My dad was in the car and pointed out what he thought looked like a 70s Lada, running just fine. He explained his experience with the Lada his father bought and how it lasted four years, during which the driver's seat was suspended above the ground by a 2x4 because the metal beneath it was rusted out. Here's some pictures. Sorry about the jaggyness, they were quickly resized from the 14 MP originals with irfanview, I didn't feel like opening photoshop:

Buy a straight 4 keychain http://fifteen52.us/shop-2/#ecwid:category=463412&mode=product&product=2030726 Also, i've decided to work on the camshaft first. (As its on the top of the engine) I'm going with Toda (http://www.todaracing.com/en/product/index.html) for most of my parts and using HKS and others as supplementary suppliers. First up is a shim kit with lighter and stronger parts. 1089$ Then a high powered camshaft with a monster 320 degree duration and 10.8 lift, it requires the shim kit. 529$ New free adjusting cam pulleys, stronger and lighter as usual. 321$ Valve guides remove heat from the cams and are essential for high rpms, especialy the 11000rpm I hope to get to. 396$ All in all this incredible camshaft will cost 2336$ If i'm missing any parts feel free to tell me.
detective issue, no wonder why its so clean
Does anyone know where I could find a hood for my '67 F-100? Google has provided me with nothing.
Lmc truck (long motor corporation) May have something good
Anyone know how long it's ok to drive with a bad timing belt/tensioner? Any ways to see how much they have left before they need replacing?
Lmc truck (long motor corporation) May have something good
I checked them and surprisingly they didn't have a replacement hood but I did manage to find a scrap yard thing in San Antonio, TX that I'm going to drive up too tomorrow. It's like $50 for a hood which isn't too bad as long as it's in better shape than mine.
Anyone know how long it's ok to drive with a bad timing belt/tensioner? Any ways to see how much they have left before they need replacing?
somewhere between zero and 100 miles ago
Timing belt tensioner should be right by the timing belt, right? If so then it might not be the problem. The rattling sound is most audible right by the driver's side wheel well, the timing belt is closer to the passenger side. It only rattles between 2000 and 2500 rpm, I'm hoping that this is just a loose part
The turbo kit I've devised will cost nearly $10k, but its a monster! I plan to be running 25 PSI with this and 11 to 12k rpm. I should be getting mid 400s horsepower. Also, where can I get methanol? I would like to use a water-methanol injection system with my turbo, but I want to know how hard it would be go get fuel for it.
Christ man, I think you're getting a bit obsessed with this whole beating-highschoolers-and-their-pony-cars-in-a-race thing
i have forza 4. how often do you play?
I don't play much anymore, my family uses my Xbox more than I do. I play whenever I feel like setting up a car or something.
wut
I was late.
Anyone know how long it's ok to drive with a bad timing belt/tensioner? Any ways to see how much they have left before they need replacing?
My car drove for about five miles after the belt went bad. It stalled constantly and felt like it was making putting down less than 30 horsepower. The day after, it wouldn't start at all. If you have a interference engine, always change the timing belt/chain on schedule unless you want to buy a new engine.
Fuck Almost saw someone T-bone someone, due to some dumb redguards stupidity, Instead of taking the jughandle to turn off of the 8 lane road with a median (4lanes on either side) she just turns left at the intersection, some lady with a kid in a ford contour locks up 2 wheels slamming on the brakes to avoid hitting her. Im sitting there at the light like what the fuck are you doing you dumb cunt And the black bitch is just looking at the ford like "omg why did they beep at me" with the im right your wrong kinda look on her face. Basically someone in a ford contour almost rammed the side of a fuckhueg GMC envoy or whatever going 45+ because the gmc driver was an idiot.
does anybody know where I can download todays F1 qualifying? it's quite urgent
