So i forgot, So I've been going out with my girl for over a year. Ever since i first went to her house her neighbor has a classic mustang rotting away on his drive way. Original color is yellow and body is rusting away slowly. Don't think that person is ever going to do anything with it just cause of no covering and just sitting out rusting and that guy's switched cars a few times now

We have a side yard next to our driveway area asking to be paved for car storage
Okay, it's saturday, it's 1:00 PM and I'm about to leave for the "exclusive" part of Copenhagen, where people go cruising in their expensive cars. My GoPro is charging, but when it's done, I'll mount it on the Civic and go for a ride. So you can see the nice stretch of road and the nice cars that'll (hopefully) be going by :D [editline]14th April 2012[/editline] This stretch of road http://g.co/maps/5mnsa
Looking to turbo my tacoma, just have no idea where to start, 2rz stock everything.
I know I am one day late on the car freshener discussion, but I couldn't find a picture of the freshener I use and is my personal favorite one but today I went and bought another one and took a pic If anyones looking for a really good car freshener that one is really good (the strawberry smell). So far everyone that has entered my car has loved the smell and commented on it.
Wow what the fuck, Someone bought the interceptor :(
Want a 4x4 that will go hard. Thinking of an 89-98 Nissan Patrol GQ... hmmmm 35" tyres... *salivates*
The turbo kit I've devised will cost nearly $10k, but its a monster! I plan to be running 25 PSI with this and 11 to 12k rpm. I should be getting mid 400s horsepower. Also, where can I get methanol? I would like to use a water-methanol injection system with my turbo, but I want to know how hard it would be go get fuel for it.
What is this going on? $10,000 worth of turbo kit could easily build me an engine and turbo setup capable of 500+

Manual transmission or automatic for a first car? [editline]14th April 2012[/editline] I'm right-handed so that base is covered.
It's all preference really... I had an automatic but the car was $800 so who cares. Now im driving the jeep with a 5speed, It is quite a bit more fun, and makes driving less boring. Manual will suck for about 1-2 hours tops, then you will get the hang of it. Within a few days your favorite song will come on the radio, once you start shifting gears at WOT you'll never want to go back to automatic.
Manual transmission or automatic for a first car? [editline]14th April 2012[/editline] I'm right-handed so that base is covered.
I'd go for a manual if you can. My automatic 4 door sedan is quite possibly the most boring thing to drive, something like having a manual would make this car 100% better.
I won't buy an automatic unless either A: I physically cannot operate a manual anymore, or B: I intend to drive it home, rip the auto out, and put a manual in. So I vote manual.
Manual transmission or automatic for a first car? [editline]14th April 2012[/editline] I'm right-handed so that base is covered.
Depends on where you live. If you live in the big city, get an auto and save yourself the trouble. If you live in a more suburban/rural area, then you could get a manual.
Alright, my dad said his first car was manual and it helped him to become a much better driver since it forces you to pay more attention. I'll probably grab something manual if I can.
Manual transmission or automatic for a first car? [editline]14th April 2012[/editline] I'm right-handed so that base is covered.
I'll give you my experience as I was one of those people who were like "Oh god manual, I'm so un-coordinated (I should never be allowed to touch a drum kit), oh god it sounds impossible hnnnggghhh" Found a pretty good deal on a 5speed Prelude, someone else was about to snatch it up so I picked it up right away. I'd previously owned 3 automatic vehicles so I was pretty worried, but the car was a good deal. I watched some videos on how to drive standard and learned how a clutch works. After getting insurance, I reversed the car out of my drive-way (Stalled it once doing that), drove down the road, and drove around my little quiet neighborhood. After a day or two, standard became completely natural. It's tons of fun so unless you find a really good deal on an automatic, I'd say go with standard. It's more fun.
I'm so un-coordinated (I should never be allowed to touch a drum kit)
Well if driving manual is anything like playing the drums, I should be good. That's my main hobby.
Yeah even my 3 speed is still pretty fun to drive
Seriously, A manual isn't even difficult to drive. Not even in the slightest. Like I say, 17 year old British girls brought up on council estates manage it. This whole Left-handed Right-Handed thing is bollocks too. I still feel better being right handed in a RHD car. It felt a bit weird being in a LHD, while being right handed. But that's because I've always driven a RHD car. My dominant hand is doing the steering, shifting hardly needs any precision. It doesn't matter. After about a day or two you don't even realise you are shifting. There's no "Concentration" or "Less time to think about what's infront of you" - It just never even enters your mind, it's almost subconscious.
Christ man, I think you're getting a bit obsessed with this whole beating-highschoolers-and-their-pony-cars-in-a-race thing
I'm more concerned with making the 86 everything it was ever meant to be, at no matter the cost. ( I couldnt possibly get enough money to get 10k on top of buying the car and fixing it up anyway. And I wont be redlight racing, I just thought the mustangs and a camaros would be a good starter spec to beat) I will buy other cars too, but they will be the same case, Like the Factory 5 GTM i'm thinking about with a Judd V10, complete carbon fiber body, total Cosworth F1 computer systems, ATL ballistic nylon fuel cell, ect... (Its a LMP1 car with a GT body, essentially). Not all cars will be race spec, only the ones which have a sort of "Intention" for that sort of thing will.
]...(most drag strips should have it or ateast be able to point you in the right direction)...
Okay thanks!

Also what part of farm country in illinois southern or central? or northern i guess too
dont do an ae86 with 300+ hp, you'll bend it to hell and back :|
dont do an ae86 with 300+ hp, you'll bend it to hell and back :|
I plan on getting a incredibly strong suspension & frame before it gets to 300+ hp. The 86 wont have many stock parts other than carpet and maybe the little speed alarm by then. It will be more than taken care of. The 86 is gona be my daily driver for my whole life, I will have plenty of time to get everything right.
yeah have fun with your race car DD... I'll just stick to my silly little 160hp ae86 if thats ok with you.
yeah have fun with your race car DD... I'll just stick to my silly little 160hp ae86 if thats ok with you.
It'll be comfortable to sit in... in a sense....
mine isn't gonna be comfortable to sit in because race car. stripping it and putting in some racing seats of the brand cobra that my dad got for free somewhere.
