If you think that a race of people just is racist, then that's somewhat racist.
No not really. That's just a generalization based on observations.
Since when are opinions racist?
since always basically at least the racist ones
No not really. That's just a generalization based on observations.
A generalization? When applied to races? Is kind of like racism.
My post here describes two bans, one that was legit but too harsh in my opinion. http://www.facepunch.com/showpost.php?p=17650390&postcount=1645 Emphasis on this one: Yeah this one was especially stupid. Since when are opinions racist? Wow okay another ban for thinking a race is generally racist. Finally, to quote the post of mine that I referenced
All of these are legitimate bans.
No not really. That's just a generalization based on observations.
Generalizing an entire race is racism, mate Sorry to ruin your callout but those are all legit
A generalization? When applied to races? Is kind of like racism.
Not necessarily. Take this for example: White people generally don't have very curly hair. Saying "Black people have curly hair" by your definition would be racist.

Also, probably because he said "God damn black people" ? [editline]09:13PM[/editline]
Not necessarily. Take this for example: White people generally don't have very curly hair. [editline]09:13PM[/editline] No that's not what he's saying at all
I can see commenting on blacks' hair called out as racist. The fact is, blacks tend to call the race card quite often, which tends to piss people off because it's usually for ridiculous things or non-serious things.

That's the kind of thing he's talking about, not saying that black people have curly hair.
You just made a racial generalization, which is what 5tolognadriS was saying would be racism. That's the kind of thing he's talking about, not saying that black people have curly hair.
Yeah what I said isn't racist. I knew that going into posting. [editline]09:23PM[/editline] Let me rephrase, if you please. From my personal experience and therefore observations of peers and many, various others, I have come to the conclusion that people of the black race are more prone to call "Racist!" than other races. That's as politically correct as I can say it. (User was banned for this post ("Racist" - Dragon))
"I agree with these racist posts so they aren't racist"
He just doesn't understand.
Yeah what I said isn't racist. I knew that going into posting.

The fact is, blacks tend to call the race card quite often, which tends to piss people off because it's usually for ridiculous things or non-serious things.
:\ I'd say it's racist and stereotypical
I'm not racist, but blacks are
Oh shit
I'm not racist, but blacks are
Ban Ban!
I'm not racist, but blacks are
Are moderators above the rules?
Yeah, we even share the latest keygens and celebrity nudes in the mod forum.
Racism is subjective. If I were to say "white people always have a relatively light complexion." that would be racism, stereotyping, and vast over generalization all in one go, but the fact that it DEFINES the term white apparently makes it okay-- because it doesn't say anything about white people in the first place. However, the fact that you're making a distinction in the first place makes it racism. It can be necessary to make a distinction in a multitude of situations, but the problem comes up in trying to justify a certain level of generalization and casting aside the next level. Drawing the line is the big problem for us, even if it's kind of ridiculous. We have to be a little racist to go on with life. Ignoring the distinction between skin colors is just as bad as exemplifying it, because either way you're ignorant. A good middle ground for me is acknowledging the differences between white people and black people and then not giving a damn. Basically, there's no way to win when the topic of race comes up besides just walking away. You're always going to be wrong no matter what you say, so just shut the hell up. EDIT: I get bored and like to type huge posts and then stop reading the thread. :frogc00l:
That's deep man [editline]03:20AM[/editline] haha syke
he's trying to talk like a sociologist and it's hilarious backing reasonable claims with statistical evidence is one thing just saying "I SEE IT EVERY DAY" just means you're stereotyping
