What about trades? You can get paid while you learn and end up making great money once you've done it for a while. Wouldn't hurt to look for apprenticeships.
They're not all 24/7 intense manual labour either - electricians get paid amazingly well and it's more techy than worky. Plus you can work in any city or town anywhere, you don't have to go to a mine in the middle of nowhere or something like welders/millwrights/pipefitters do.

I've just realized how useless my college course is.
We spent an hour doing some pretty much nothing in class and left an hour and a half early again. (The teacher didn't show up again).
Well, I'm on my own again. I don't think it's sinked in yet so I'm not in the ice cream phase just yet.

I honestly wonder if some people even think about that kind of thing.
Whenever the rare event of me having to go to the DMV for whatever reason I do it in advance in case shit like that happens. I've seen a shitload of people panicking because the line at the DMV is long and it's near closing hour and their license expires that day etc. Do it ahead of time next time so you aren't in a situation as such.
