I thought I could have nice conversations on Grindr, until the other person responds "I'm horny."
It's hard to take that app seriously. :v:
Well I haven't heard from my boyfriend for the past three days.
So basically it's just "make yourself stand out"?
I'm planning on going into the industry. Wither or not it takes me 10 years to actually get there or I go indie or I just end up doing modding my whole life while delivering pizzas is beside the point - I just know the only thing I can find myself doing as a fufilling career would be someting involving games. I have a pretty good feel for my situation to the point that I'm 100% confident I'll be at least in one of the above scenarios and enjoying what I do because of it.
It's not really as "easy" as just standing out. That's a phrase that sounds easy to say, but in reality can mean a whole lot of things. How does one make yourself stand out? Suddenly that question starts seeming pretty loaded or hard to solve. For me, I just do what I love doing and keep doing it, even if my schooling or my studies don't directly add to that portfolio of work. In games industry, it's more important ot have a good portfolio and body of work, as well as experience, than it is to really have anything else. Networking (who you know) is also important but lets be honest here - you're not going to have many opportunities for this unless you work on a big mod project and half the people you worked with now work at a studio. And you better hope they think well of not only your skill but your work ethic for them to actually want to reccomend you for a job.
If my portfolio by the time I graduate is good enough to get a job somewhere, awesome. If it isn't, I'm prepaired to spend however many years enjoying making it better before it becomes valuble.
On that note however, it's hard to make solid "portfolio quality" work for the realm of game design without doing the following: having outside inspiration/knowledge, having personal experiences, not being afraid to fail or scrap an idea if it doesn't work, working with others. You don't have to do all of the above at once (it'd probably end up being a mess if so), but all of those things help with making good design. I'm studying fine arts at school, which doesn't directly involve game design at all, but many themes and lessons one learns in the fine arts realm can directly apply to game deisgn - this can give you a unique perspective on certain issues you are aware of in games, certain trends, etc. It all applies, and some tools of visual thinking I learn as a graphic designer and as a fine arts major directly apply to the kind of thinking that is helpful to have when doing game/level/whatever design. I also make it a point to try and give myself more life experience in general. Signed up for a big rock climbing/canoeing trip my school was doing out west last winter for example, and it was awesome. I try to expose myself to many different things, and clue into the stuff that really resonates with me, because if you are person who is "richly" exposed to all sorts of things and experiences, you have a much better foundation to be a creative individual.
And of course, don't forget to still play games. It's hard to stay current in design trends and what is working and what isn't working if you don't have the capability to disconnect yourself and just enjoy game-time.
I'm talking as if I'm in the industry, but I'm not :v: My point is though, I strive (and sometimes fail, admittatly) to live my life like this, and with that thinking I'm 100% confident I'll be doing what I love when I'm older. And that's whats gonna get me into the industry and make me stand out, I feel like. If it doesn't, I'll rely on my ability to stay out of exorbant debt and deliver pizzas for money and doing mods on the side :P Oh, and keep an eye out for modding projects you can help out on. A single project that explodes can be your ticket directly into the industry, or at least extremely good developing experinece. Since mod teams pretty much do the same exact stuff a real studio does, except without getting paid and without working 9-5 every day on it.

I have no idea.
There are kits to mold human penises into dildos and I imagine you could replace "human penis" with "pretty much anything that fits into the tube" if you want to do silicone stuff, or you can ask the guys at the warhammer thread on how to mold solid stuff. I saw an entire army cloned from a single soldier figurine guy where the main materials for the mold enclosures were cardboard and rubberbands there. :v:
I have a history in molding penises. First you make a negative using alginate that you fill with Ballistics gel and a blood pack. Then the whole thing gets a latex skin and makeup. You see, the gigs of our band start with me going on stage, castrating myself using a state-of-the-art prosthetic cock which then gets tosses into a cast iron meat grinder. Our band is called Cockgrinder. We play grindcore.

Songs include our popular hit 'Homos' with the (loosely translated) refrain: Cast them in the septic pit; All the boys and all the girls; Carl fucks William up the arse; Holy fuck that's one big cock; Mother Mary hold my hand; This sodomy is too much to take; Filthy! Homos! Faggots! YAAAARRRGH! x2

It's only just occurred to me to test my new sound card on Linux. It didn't work at all on Windows 7; all it recognized was the PCI-E to PCI bridge chip on the card. In Linux Mint, it works straight away, which is a pleasant surprise and confirms that it's not faulty.

Indeed. Truly a masterpiece.
I never knew that coming out to my mother and brother would improve my relationship with them.
While I was feeling sick this morning, my brother texted me asking if I was okay, and yesterday my mother told me that my brother could not stop praising me.
And I think my mother is trying to hook me up with someone :v:

I was working on a mod team for a while, but I had to leave because things slowed down alot.
But yeah I get the idea, maybe I'll join another modding group when I get some ground in community college.

Guitar Rapist. Singer's so fat, he covers every picture. That vid was one of our early gigs. the quality is shit.
This is the highest quality song we have online. We recorded it with a fellow band:

It's creepy that I recognise you in the picture by your chest.
I got a letter from a college today and I was really exited
then I opened it and it turns out they just wanted to tell me I'm a good student because I got a high score on the PSAT and I was qualified to take an anonymous survey which I benefit nothing from
goodie

Drug my BF out for ice skating for about 20-30 min (cold outside!!) then on our way back I spotted a fancy legit coffee shop (with you know, the actual cool designs with milk in lattes and everything) and had some coffee in the winter air~
I luv stuff like dat :> I probably enjoyed it more than my BF haha but he likes skating and I'm sure he likes moping around town and stuff like dat
Awww I love stuff like that... a little too cute for my brain to handle :3

My problem is that I like scene/emo looking dudes that aren't scene/emo, I just dig the body type and the hair
and those attributes are really hard to find elsewhere (even "twinks" are ripped half the time and I don't overly like that)
I like the scene/emo looking dudes. The body type and the look. I want to get percings like that too~
