I hit 18 on the 18th last year. Are we twins?
I'll be 18 in September 18th
Wait, that's November, I've forgot my birth date
I'm not used to being asked how old I am at all in person. When it happened yesterday, I paused for a good 30 seconds trying to think.

Same. It's like for a good time I'm not sure if I am 18 or 19. (I'm 19)
I'm 19 but i look younger than my age.
Also home from college this weekend. It's always bitter sweet because on the one hand i'm home, on the other hand it's a rather depressing place to be.

So how's life gents?
I am 16 and people think I'm at least 20 or something.
It's somewhat a complement and an insult when I'm with my mother at the drugstore and they think I'm her husband.
I'm 20 turning 21, kind of feeling old
Also here are some pics from my going to a brazilian carnival:

Brazilian carnivals rock
i've always had people tell me I look a lot older for my age. like, when I was 17 they thought I was 23. now I'm 21 and I dread the thought of looking older. I hope it's just the beard. When all goes well and I'll get the game dev job in summer I'll get a new haircut and a shave. No more hobo rapist look for me, time to be jolly and gay instead of full of worries all the time.
The way you said it implied you hadnt been paying the bills.
In some (I'd go as far as saying most) places it's illegal to shut off water for not paying the water bill (water is considered essential), and that's why water is included with garbage collection as a "municipal services" bill. It can eventually lead to eviction, but if water gets shut off it's probably because of a problem.
This is true. College is a much more mature and open minded social experience than high school is. There aren't really social circles or cliques and nobody really cares about your age/grade level. If you don't like someone or someone doesn't like you then you'll just never interact - there's no bullies or anything like that. There is also pretty much a garuntee that there is some group of people that share some kind of common interest as you do, no matter how big or small.
It's just hard to meet new people simply because unlike in HS, you aren't constantly around the same peers the whole time, and everyone mostly tends to their own devices. So you have to be a bit proactive and make friends with classmates who are in your major (and as such you meet more often than once), clubs and groups, events, etc. Or just hang out with whoever you room with on your floor if you are staying in a dorm (but you might end up hating your roomates/floormates. Plus this doesn't apply if you are like me and just live in an apartment while going to school).
College is full of stupid kids who think they're still in high school so there most definitely are social circles and cliques, there are just a wider variety of them

You'd think it would be the same for gas and electric too. I believe heating is considered an essential as well.
Isnt water cheap as anyway
The only thing my parents have ever said dont waste is electricity

My brothers girlfriend stays home all week with the air con set to like 17c (62f) when its like, 30c+ (85f) outside
I'm 22 and look my age. Facial hair is really good at that, making you look mature... if you can pull it off, that is. I see a lot of people around college with full-blown mutton chops.
So how's life gents?
Shaky, quite a lot surprisingly. Hope yours is going well, and being at home doesn't get you down too much.
I am going into part time employment soon, which consists of walking around Edinburgh and pushing leaflets into peoples houses in the hope they will be read.
Also my cat is sleeping on me.

It might be in certain places, I'm not sure. We don't have gas lines here, you have to install a tank if you want it.

Yeah electricity is always charged by usage but water is sometimes just a flat monthly rate regardless of use. (Drought-prone or greedy places will have water meters though)

You have to just hide for a week or two while it fills out, then trim it up.
Guhhhhhhh it's killing me
Why can't I just say it
Well my mom's becoming a bit more religious, and my pop doesn't want to talk about it because "of stress".
I can't wait to get away from the religion here.
Glad religion never had a single fuck given here.
Lets make our own religion and when our kids turn out to be straight we will silently judge them from the shade of our holy gay bible.
Yeah I don't think I'm ever going to tell my father that I'm gay.
Came to the conclusion that I don't have the balls to do it and it's unlikely that I'll ever have a boyfriend before I move out.

Same opinion, but it's with both my parents, and on the topic of religion and my bisex.
I just wanna leave. If I weren't so patient, I'd just go and walk to a police station.
My mother is very religious but not incredibly conservative. She doesn't go to church but she's the type that firmly believes there is a god. She's not like crazy about it though and is rational enough to understand that prayer won't fix shit but it won't hurt to do it. But both her and my father were raised old school roman catholic in the 60's back when the mass was still said in Latin.
My father hasn't been a practicing catholic since the mid 80's and my brother, sister, and i all have more or less renounced our faith as roman catholics. Only my brother has become an ardent atheist though, he'd probably fit it with r /atheism quite well and likes to quote famous scientists about god and is exactly the kind of person who would take any chance he gets to call you an idiot for having a religion. My sister will pretend to be religious to make my mother happy. Meanwhile while i'm not religious myself (8 years of catholic school only helped that to happen), i take a purely scientific approach to the subject in that i won't definitely say there is no god but i won't definitely say there is. There's no proof proving nor disproving the existence of a god.
At absolutely best i'd say i'm theistic agnostic. I don't follow a religion but i'm not ardently opposed against the idea that somewhere a higher power COULD exist.
I can see why people believe in religions, i really can. I perfectly understand that people chose what they chose for a reason and i think it's great that it can make you happy and at ease to believe in a god, but just like how i understand you're reasons for being religious you can understand my reasons for not being religious.
Update: I get to say it, awaiting call from the boyo
Pheeewwwwwwww here goes
Lets make our own religion and when our kids turn out to be straight we will silently judge them from the shade of our holy gay bible.
Guys, guys, i have an idea.
Let's all become Bokononists.
A religion created by the author Kurt Vonnegut. Created in his novel solely to be banned and the founder become an outlaw so the people of a horrible poor nation could ubiquitously believe in something for the sole purpose of being happy. The book of boknonon opens up with this on the title page
"Don't be a fool! Close this book at once! It is nothing but foma!"
Foma is a fictional word that means "harmless untruths".
The basis of the religion is that everything told within the book is a lie but serves the purpose of giving members peace of mind by following this blatant lies.
Someone actually compiled all the known texts from Vonnegut's book Cat's cradle online for the book of Bokonon. It has some spoilers to the book but other wise it's actually a funny, satirical yet inspiring read for a religion made purely for a novel.
By the way, Cat's Cradle is a fantastic read too. Vonnegut is an amazing author.

Too bad my mother and father make a big deal out of my Atheism.
I'm so glad that most of the people in my family are Atheists. Although sadly I lost one of my friends due to it, as his parents were extremely religious and they thought I would be a bad influence on him.
Also I look really old for my age, 17.
I believe I mentioned here earlier about how I was in a relationship, but my boyfriend had to move away with his family to the Southern US (I'm in Canada)? Well, despite the struggles and breaking up because of the distance, we never really got over each other.
Back together, willing to stick through until the bitter end so we can meet again in the future. Valentine's Day couldn't be spent with him physically, but yeah, I'm in love. Fuck the hardships and difficulties and people I know saying that it's not worth it because we're too far apart.
Blah blah blah I'm so happy, and I hope everyone here has a fantastic day, weekend, month, anything.

LDR's can work in the right conditions I think.
Mostly amount to:
A. You've already met and been together before being in an LDR (i.e. this isn't an e-relationship where you've never met or been around them in-person)
B. You have reasonable means to meet up every now and then
C. It isn't -literally- impossible to get together again in person (i.e. he gets a job somewhere in Germany while you live in CA with your own job). Or it'll take 10 or so years before you can get together again (i.e. you are in manditory schooling that you won't graduate from for a long time).
It's mostly the fact that when it's an e-relationship, or that if you can't ever have any chance of even meeting up again for a very long time that it usually isn't worth all the emotional energy you'll put into it.

I guess it's just different for my college since I go to a predominantly commuter college located next to an air force base
So a good half of the people on campus are already in families and nobody cares about the young freshmen and such. It's pretty much what a community college would be like, if it was a 4-year.
Aah, so we got it all sorted. Just/still friends, best to keep things positive and not take any chances. Still doing the con, still gonna hang, still gonn do et, just going to take it easy
Atleast I fucking know now, blawrgh not knowing things turns my head into spaghetti

You went to a horrible horrible college then.
I went to a fucking frat party and even managed to connect to people on some level and have a nice conversation.
In my college, nobody gives a fuck about cliques or social circles. They're all young adults who are there to have fun and maybe learn if such a thing is possible. If i try talking to someone (which i honestly never would on my own but still) they won't shoot me down because i'm wearing an aperture science t shirt or refuse to talk to me because i look like a nerd with my glasses.
This isn't limited to just my university, both of my siblings went to different uni's and when i visited it was all the same story. Just a bunch of young adults eager to have fun and meet people.
I've since become pretty good friends with a rugby player. I'm not a sports person at all and he's not a gamer, we didn't care that our social circles were vastly different, we still befriended each other.
My parents are religious I guess, my dad doesn't seem to care about religion at all, but my mom still wants to go to mass and stuff because traditions, but she doesn't. I don't know what anyone in my family actually believes in, but they know I'm an atheist and they don't seem to care about it.
You went to a horrible horrible college then.
Went to the University of Saskatchewan for a little while and visited the University of Victoria but didn't go, both were dumbass central and I hated everything about "campus life"
Took a welding course at a community college and all the people there were great but couldn't complete the course for personal reasons, I'd totally do something in the trades again though. Nobody goes to a vocational school just because like so many do with university so the whole thing just feels more mature.

Being mostly Irish basically all of my family is Catholic and every single one of them are distancing themselves from that shitshow more and more every day
Coming from a catholic family, my parents are very religious(especially my mother) she hates the color black (thinks its evil, demonic lmao) and often critize me when I wear black clothing and she makes me go to mass every sunday except when I lie about feeling sick then she goes off to church on her own :). teehee she does know I am bi :> :v:
