Joining in on the bandwagon, both my parents are pretty damn religious. In fact, my dad is a Pastor/Minister. Mom already knows i'm gay and seems "okay" with it but my dad... well, cross that bridge when I come to it!
Went to the University of Saskatchewan for a little while and visited the University of Victoria but didn't go, both were dumbass central and I hated everything about "campus life"
Took a welding course at a community college and all the people there were great but couldn't complete the course for personal reasons, I'd totally do something in the trades again though. Nobody goes to a vocational school just because like so many do with university so the whole thing just feels more mature.
[editline]16th February 2013[/editline]
Being mostly Irish basically all of my family is Catholic and every single one of them are distancing themselves from that shitshow more and more every day
Well yeah because most people who go to vocational schools can't afford to really joke around generally speaking.
Just saying that you went to horrible universities if everyone there upheld social cliques.
You know, now that i think about it, my highscool as well as many other highschools like the ones my friends went to, didn't have those typical "social cliques".
sometimes i kinda feel bad for my mom (not in a condescending way), she's Catholic but also really left-leaning so you can tell when she talks about certain stuff (evolution, abortion, etc.) that she wants to support the opinions that are more left (evolution being a thing that's real, abortion being a-ok) but at the same time she feels bad about it going against her faith
that said she has absolutely no problem with the gays from what i can tell
for me i don't even know what to call myself in terms of religion so i'll leave it at that

I don't think she's gonna be religious for much longer. That's how it started for me.

it's like you're giving a presidential lecture on a miniscule icon that takes up one thousandth of your screen space
I think we're past that discussion.

Kids are always gonna find ways to get high. :v:
I just broke up with my boyfriend. Saddest night of his life, I wish I could hate myself for it but I just wasn't happy. He loves me more than anything.

microwaved popcorn is awful, I'm talking about the REAL thing, made on a stove

Real popcorn isn't stove made bro.

Same here, also I still write like, 3rd grade in tests even though I'm starting 5th this year (I dunno the proper conversion to US senior/junior bullshit but it's the last year for normal students and second to last for technical highschool students (me))
Real popcorn isn't stove made bro.
well i mean it helps if you own a gigantic cast iron kettle that's the size of a small apartment but some of us have to make do with what we have
Real popcorn isn't stove made bro.
Yeah but I don't have one of those nice machines they have at cinemas
I'll probably get one when I have my own house since I goddamn love popcorn
Actually, stove made popcorn is typically the worst because it offers the worst flavor delivery method in that while unlike airpopped popcorn you can add oil and get the kernels wet, as soon as they start popping you lose control of that quickly and the oil is soaked up by the first few popped kernels before the rest manage to pop.
[editline]16th February 2013[/editline]
i know this because i am obviously a popcorn expert.
[editline]16th February 2013[/editline]
actually actually, it matters on the receptacle. Use a metal mixing bowl and tongs or something and constantly shake it over the stove.
Yeah that'd work.

this isn't a problem if you're an absolute lunatic such as myself and consume popcorn naked
the popcorn being naked that is, not me
[sp]sometimes both[/sp]

naked popcorn refers to unseasoned. You still need oil to pop properly or else you're using a very inefficient method. Oil allows consistent heat and even popping. The oil isn't for flavor.
And if you're doing air popped. Stop that, it's just silly.
[editline]16th February 2013[/editline]
popcorn is serious fuckin' business apparently.
Pretty sick of people on Facebook posting that 4 pics 1 word game asking for help..
You start looking real fucking stupid when you cant work out "Edge" from a picture of a knife, the edge of a cliff, edge of a razor and some guy looking nervous..

then what's the problem with the oil on a stove?
just wait until it's hot enough (when you put a kernel in and it pops) and then only put in enough kernels to have a single layer and they'll pop perfectly
Fuckwits
lol whats your problem? run out of things to buy?

It doesn't work like that. It takes time for the kernels to heat up individually. Not to mention you'd get barely any popcorn and since it's so shallow each kernal would absorb even more oil then normal. The key is to keep it moving and if you use something like a pot you limit maneuverability, use a pan and heat escapes inefficiently and it cant hold the popcorn, plus more oil than usually must be used. A mixing bowl offers a good compromise for this and you easily keep it moving with vigorous shaking.
