Oh god I <3 french press coffee. It comes out so creamy~ Fun to make too! Not practical for mornings where I need something quick though. Gotta get the right amounts of coffee and the right heat/amount of water to get it better but otherwise it works great.
Our family isn't huge on gifts, went over to my dads. Got some nice stuff for sure (a GPS to replace one that was stolen from my car this year, $75 pre-paid card from my grandma) but nothing too big. Best part about it is hanging out at my dads with family and stuff and having a huge xmas breakfast. Hashbrowns, pulled pork, eggs, sweet rolls, bacon/sausage, etc. Sooooo good. And we all had doctor who on (BBC America), who was playing all the xmas specials of Dr. Who. My sister got an atari flashback so we were playing crappy pong and such :v:
Oh and my BF gave me quite a filling when I woke up~

If you have some sort of electric water heater and give it a couple tries until you get the amount of coffee right you can have french press coffee in about the same time it takes to make the fastest coffee (I believe you normally use drip or an espresso machine?)

I use drip. Tried making the hot water by putting it in my drip machine with no coffee only to find the straight water had tons of coffee grounds and such in it due to no filter :P guess that means I need to clean out my drip machine or something (I don't get grounds or anything when I use actual coffee in it). Also apparently you have to let the water sit in the french press for about 4-5min, and the water from the coffee machine would have cooled down a lot by the time that is done (which is why in my little booklet it says to use boiling water).
I dunno :v: Still gotta mess around with it. Also got a neat little frother. I can probably make something that is almost espresso-esque by mixing one part french press coffee (with lots of grounds so its stronger), and one part milk then mixing it together with my hand held frother.

Nonono, you have to froth the milk before adding it to the coffee. Else it becomes a crappy latte. And yeah you should clean your coffee machine regularly, try a 1:1 vinegar and water mixture, pass it through the machine several times then run straight water through it to wash it off. Works wonders.
I got small things, the biggest being a new office chair. Which I'm really thankful for since my last one was horrible. This one is soooo comfy~
My brother went on a homophobic rant against a guy he had to deal with earlier (said guy had a lisp), I haven't come out as gay to my family but I think he has some vibes that I'm gay. He tried changing his rant mid-way and saying not all gay people are bad etc when he realized what he was saying to me. At least he's trying, I guess.
When he started to get vibes that I was gay, he told me that he'd be cool and support me and love me no matter what etc. I don't know what to think of him.

Homophobic family basically go through a grief thing. First they deny it, then they get pissed, then they say its a phase or you are confused, then they end up depressed or hateful then after all that, they usually accept it and see you are normal and not like the lispy flamboyant people they pretend to know to justify their beliefs.
I'm an "ass" for a reason sometimes.

Thanks for the tip! Yeah the coffee machine used to be pretty clean but when we moved my sister who moved it didn't realize it had grounds in it, so grounds got all inside every little part.
And froth the milk before adding to coffee? Okays, good idea. Should I use heated milk or just keep it normal (from the fridge)? I've never really made a "real" latte out of my coffee, I usually just add some creamer (with sugar+cocoa already mixed in before I do that).

See, I crack these jokes though, and sometimes they're about specific people. I make the joke without a second though, but then afterwards I feel guilty. I want to take my boyfriend on a Segway tour and he said that he's scared of heights. I asked him if he wanted me to remove all the stools when we (eventually) live together. I think it hurt his feelings and I feel terrible :c
