Starting to think it was a mistake to buy the Mass Effect trilogy pack for the PC; Origin is completely refusing to log me in with 2 errors; unknown and no connection. Searching high and low for a solution, none of which so far are working. That's 45 euro down the drain :/
EDIT: seems their servers are having problems. For fuck's sake, EA is a massive company, they can surely afford better servers.

It's hard to say what defines dubstep but it's not the wubs.
Older dubstep (Distance is a great example) is mostly atmospheric and calm, backed by a deep bass line.
I mostly listen to the things I study and play. I think most people here know what genre that is. [sp](classical)[/sp]

I don't usually listen to dubstep because from a music theory point of view it's not innovative at all. Crescendos and decrescendos are common place. The Drops I've heard are usually what's been known since the 1700s as a fp or fortepiano. And nearly all dubstep is held within 4-8 measure repetitions at 120BPM.
At least surprise me and take a different tempo or mix up the number of repetitions.
Lotta people would get all uppity about dubstep and say
"It's gotta be 140bpm in half time or 70 bpm (Or something like that) or ITS NOT DUBSTEP"
But its pretty much a beat and wubs that make it Dubstep.
the thing about dubstep and a lot of other music that people complain about is that they're mostly club music that's meant to be danced to and not analyzed
as much skill as it may or may not take to make, a lot of it is mindless music regardless
