But its pretty much a beat and wubs that make it Dubstep.
Well, I'd disagree there. Hell, there's a song which proves my point: "ALL AMERICAN DUBSTEP"
[sup][sub]The joke here being that it's a speedcore song made out of a tryhard dubstep song[/sup][/sub].
So...
Brostep?
if that's what "what up drop dat bass 720 9am noscope" dubstep is then yeah i guess
if that's what "what up drop dat bass 720 9am noscope" dubstep is then yeah i guess
Pretty much.

that literally sounds like noise
like I thought my audio card had commited suicide there for a second
I guess when you're doing a lot of work with a lot of genres (some of which you pretty much make up / overspecify yourself) some stuff turns out crappy
Here, a honest example on true, old-school dubstep:

That's my main inspiration in writing and posing (Source Filmmaker).
The thing about most modern day "Dubstep" is to find things that incorporate more melodic type stuff than just random noises, Seven Lions is a pretty good example of "Dubstep" done right as it brings in a lot more than just "CALL NINE ONE ONE NOW BEW BEWB BEBEBBEBWBERBEBRB"
that literally sounds like noise
That's the massively high tempo, which is kind of the point of speedcore. It's the result of people hearing a track that is described as "hardcore" and then saying "No, I can do harder."
Also another great example would be Griz who samples the shit out of tons of awesome older Jazz and Classical tunes

This song has a kick ass Sax solo too, it's worth a listen imo since this album has been one of my most listened to thing recently.

so basically it's the musical equivalent of putting bigger and bigger tires on your truck until your tires outweigh your car twice over and are big enough to turn pluto into a bicycle

Yes, that's why I sent you the ticket link!
GRiZ is incredible and has made a ton of good tunes, you should go grab both of his albums "Mad Liberation" and "End Of The World Party". It's also worth checking out his collaboration he did with Gramatik (aptly named "Grizmatik") they both have a very similar style and it creates a pretty cool sound

Although I gotta say this is my favorite song, ever (not really because I'm terrible at making decisions like that)
going back to hair for a second, a practical demonstration of why you should have short hair:

me, circa one and a half years ago, looking weird as hell. (honestly what even is this, it's like i have a rug on my head.)

me now, looking smug as hell. (actually i'm planning on getting it cut tomorrow, thinking about shaving down the sides and stuff but anyways.)
don't let your hair grow out, it's a terrible thing.
Both of those are short and aside from my personal opinions on style, the first one looks better because the hair itself looks shinier and more healthy
Basically short is if you can see your ears, medium from ears to shoulders, long beyond that
How about some shoegaze?
i wish sr3 was longer, it ended so abruptly
it was a damn good game still
it was my personal goty for 2011
one of the best coop experiences out there
I preferred SR2 to be honest, the open world part was done so much better (idle plane traffic, enterable areas like the airport and the mall, better ai for civillians, etc), plus it was quite a bit less silly

i agree, it's a pity that saints row 2 runs so horribly on pc though
eh, 2 was better in some parts but i actually kinda like that 3 embraced the ridiculousness
it's a nice change of scenery to "urgh gruff life is tuff" games
[editline]5th January 2013[/editline]
i swear soon we're going to have a game where you have to come home from war and do your taxes and go to the doctor and feed your dog and sleep in real time
The problem with 3 is that it just runs with the Gimmick. SR2 had the insane quality as a joke because of how subtly handled it was.
[editline]5th January 2013[/editline]
Also, if you like Speedcore you need to fucking recognize what's music and not just an assembly of noises put close together.
I swear to god, out of any place in Facepunch, this chat thread has the best taste in music.
How about some shoegaze?
have you heard of a band called Yppah? they're a bit more electro/post rock than these but their newest album.
There's also Gauntlet hair, Craft spells and The wild nothing if you haven't heard of them already.
