yeah but good god when they heard that steam wouldnt put it on the store (because they dont put adult-only games on steam) everyone on here was up in arms

Considering there are light pornographic games on steam now, yeah it was pretty ridiculous.

and frankly i dont agree with them being on there either, at least front and center on the store page if its a new release or recent update. makes steam feel kinda skeevy.

I mean doesnt steam tailor your front page to what you play and browse?
If you see nothing but "skeevy" games then im not sure what to say

it does, but the new releases and recently updated arent afaik
[editline]12th February 2017[/editline]
ok, sorry, my bad, they must've changed it at some point so that the recent updates only show wishlisted games and ones in your library. Popular new releases still shows all games, though, and I've had them pop up in my queue before
yeah but good god when they heard that steam wouldnt put it on the store (because they dont put adult-only games on steam) everyone on here was up in arms
How do you answer that, but ignore this?
Even if YandereSim was intentionally a shock game or had components intended to shock the player (Surprise, it isn't), guess what other game has a moment which is unskippable, and clearly intended to send a message and to shock the player?
Grand Theft Auto V.
You know that part where you have to waterboard, electrocute, pull at his teeth with pliers, maybe beat him with a wrench? Totally unskippable, and immediately after it is made obvious through dialogue that the torture was pointless in the context of the game and the developers clearly added it to shock and send a message about torture post 9/11.
Now let's look at this mention of "torturing someone into committing murder-suicide" portion of YandereSim. Completely optional, the torture bits are just a menu, some flavor text, and some voice acting rather than GTA V's graphic fully animated torture scene with various methods of said torture. And using this method of optional flavor text torture isn't meant to shock like it is in GTA V, its just a way of progressing if that's how you choose to play, rather than GTA V's unskippable, only intended to shock, torture scene.
Point is a game that isn't banned clearly commits all the "sins" that you're complaining about, while YandereSim isn't. Maybe if you could a torture a girl by beating in her dog's head right in front of her with a baseball bat, it be less snuff film, and closer to your decent, respectable style.
And I'm sure that I am tardy to the GTA V torture party in this discussion, but hopefully this makes you take a second look at whatever it is that you're using to substitute logic.

How do you answer that, but ignore this?
Because he doesnt want to admit fault.

a) twitch said that theyre ok with things like that that are a small part of the story, so I figure thats why they didnt ban it from that
b) it showed torture in an obviously negative light. in yandere sim its a positive to help you achieve the goals of the game (id assume)
That's such a skewed argument, and the "I'd assume" shows a lack of understanding of the game.
GTA5 - Torture
-Shows victim in visible distress
-Shows graphic detail
-Is required to complete the story of the game
Yandere Simulator - Torture
-Shows victim in visible distress
-Blackscreen only
-Is completely optional
Calling it positive is absurd and by that logic the Hitman series shows murder in a positive light.
b) it showed torture in an obviously negative light. in yandere sim its a positive to help you achieve the goals of the game (id assume)
Except that killing people and getting away with it reduces the school's atmosphere, which makes the ambience more gray, music more combat-like, and more importantly, it makes every NPC more alert than usual (which hinders you).
b) it showed torture in an obviously negative light. in yandere sim its a positive to help you achieve the goals of the game (id assume)
So can you just accept the fact you basically have no idea what the fuck you're talking about ? Because that would make it a lot easier for everyone involved
I don't know why people argue about the violence itself. Violence towards kids/teens is what's controversial, and sexual harassment even more so. Twitch fails to mention it, but the amount of such content here is the underlying motive behind this whole ban.

Lmao isn't the GTAV torture scene a main mission, therefore a necessary part of the main game? You're really desperately pulling at straws and it's really embarrassing for everyone involved at this point. Especially when it sounds like you've played neither of the games.

GTA V - Torture a grown man in his early forties who was working with terrorists, then drop him off safely at the airport to leave the country
Yandere sim - Torture innocent high school students abducted from their schools, then release them in the school to commit a killing spree there and watch them commit suicide afterwards
In regards to the GTA V torture scene- wasn't there some sort of unwritten rule where people can play it, but can't spend too much time on it while on stream?
Or is that something that I imagined, because I thought they had some exceptions like that where you can play certain games but you have to avoid certain features or go through certain segments as fast as you can.
The comparison is not moot. Whether or not they are banning the game because they are uncomfortable with it, but fine with doom or their advertisers are uncomfortable with it, but fine with doom - it is still a blatant double standard.
In Doom you're killing demon monsters.
In Yandere Simulator you're killing high school kids.
In Dangan Ronpa high school kids die, but you're not killing them, and the deaths aren't graphic.
Kind of different yo.
Also the guy complains about exposure, but he's making 5k a month on Patreon already. That's a fuckton of money yo, I think he's got plenty of exposure as is.
I do kind of want to play the game honestly tho >~>"

Wasnt he explicitly an innocent man who was accused of being a terrorist because of racism?
Like it was very explicit.

It was, so I dunno where he pulled that gem from.
The weird thing to me is that it's Twitch's platform and they could've just said "Well, this is our platform and we don't really need an excuse or justification for banning this game", or not responded at all. Why did they come out with a really flimsy excuse instead?

because contrary to unpopular belief, they do need an excuse or justification if they want to keep their employees, customers and streamers happy.

The fact Twitch shouldn't really do that is what sparked this whole event in the first place. They were just ignoring the game without giving reason. Thing is, nobody likes when companies do that. Transparency, in situations like this, is good for everybody.
speaking as someone who has never heard of the concept of video games, and who has no knowledge of the english language to speak of, this game is deplorable and if you play it you're a twerp

This kinda falls into the "It's your choice to do this" kinda thing, for example You don't have to kill anyone. There are several ways to get them "out of the way" as it were with minimal damage or none at all, be it setting them up with someone else on a date, get them expelled, damage their relations to the point that senpai (I spelt that right, right?)rejects their profession of love and last, getting a good enough relation to them and a few favors and asking for them to not ask out senpai
Those last two also bring up a sub-choice. You can get someone's reputation so low that senpai will reject their love profession. However, if you keep tarnishing her reputation further other classmates bully the girl to suicide, BUT that isn't required whatsoever. When you get someone's relations high enough and do a few favors you can bring them over to your house and request that they cease going after senpai or you can just stab the girl in the jugular the instant she walks into your home (infact during the conversation Yandere-chan(That's her name, right?) walks behind the girl while she's talking, leaving her very vunerable but if you wait she'll go back to sitting down
Look at Postal 2, in theory you can cruse through that game without hurting anyone as you're given a taser and a beanbag launcher (in an expansion if I recall) or, you can piss on people then blow them up with napalm, then cut them up, then piss on them again, and kick the poor sod's head around like a soccer ball for good measure

To be honest, pissing at your opponents is a viable approach to a non-violent playthrough in P2 - they can't shoot you if they are vomiting their guts out.

LOL WHAT this website is fucking hyper-left. Have you ever seen someone try to have a non-left opinion on FP? Like look at fucking Tudd Fudders. Because he has BAD OPINIONS he's constantly harassed to the point people go "HAHA HOW WILL TUDD RESPOND TO THIS!!!!" mockingly in most SH threads or shitpost on his visitor page about how he's a bad person.
