Hmmm... I like Snyder. I enjoyed 300 and I loved "Watchmen".
Also OP, if you had included Neill Blomkamp on that list, I would have chosen him in a heartbeat
Clearly Duncan Jones.
Not some generic action movie director...

The OP didn't make up the list in the poll fyi, it's supposedly the actual director short-list for the film.
All I would like to see in this Superman movie is that it takes place in the '30s or '40s...
Superman + Dieselpunk = WIN

Oh crap you're right... my bad :v:
the most common mistake Ive seen with Superman excluding Superman returns(he tried to do this in that one).
Clark Kent is Superman's Alter Ego. Its not Superman is Clark Kent's Alter Ego and thats a huge area that needs exploring because he is a alien wanting to be human he doesnt like who that he is the one on of his species also.
I do believe Superman's greatest adversary is and always will be Darksied because he is exactly like Superman in powertype(he has laser eyes too but his can turn corners and bend) but alot strong and he always lets Superman cut loose because Superman has never cut loose on anyone but him. An he was always the only guy who could fight the entire Justice League at once
General Zod was awesome.
Jonathan Nolan for direction, now that would be awesome.
Duncan Jones is the only director I like in the list, but I don't know if he would make a good superman film.

"First up is Snyder, who I feel is the strongest candidate, as his visual style could work perfectly with the storytelling of the Nolan brothers and David S. Goyer. Sadly, it's not to be. A few days before the news broke, Snyder did an interview with Latino Review in which he mentioned that he was approached about the project, but turned the opportunity down."
Snyder is out.

Nolan is just the producer for this though.
Doesn't matter, it's his idea. Just somebody elses words and somebody else's vision.
Doesn't matter, it's his idea. Just somebody elses words and somebody else's vision.
No it's not? It's Goyer's Idea. Goyer went to Nolan and pitched the idea to him. Nolan liked it a lot so he agreed to be a producer and help get the film together.
Nolan, about Goyer:
"He basically told me, 'I have this thought about how you would approach Superman'. I immediately got it, loved it and thought: That is a way of approaching the story I’ve never seen before that makes it incredibly exciting. I wanted to get Emma and I involved in shepherding the project right away and getting it to the studio and getting it going in an exciting way."
I still have no idea why IMDB is listing Christopher Nolan as having a role in the writing though. All i've ever heard is that it's Goyer's script but whatever, this was still Goyer's idea.
I'm always going to prefer the Smallville version of superman.
Either duncan or zack. They are both great.
jason statham should star
Duncan goddamn Jones

I wouldn't mind that. But Smallville has been going on for YEARS.
No need for a spin off
I loved moon but I dont see how that could be translated into an action superhero movie.
Because people can only do one kind of thing. Everything this person does henceforth will be just like Moon.
In every way.
Really I'll leave the choice to Nolan, he can talk to them individually and evaluate if they are fit for the kind of movie it's going to be.
I think Nolan will pick the best option, but I kinda like Snyder. He's capable with comic book adaption, art style. My only problem is that he sometimes uses slow-mo when it's not really needed and a bit unnecessary gore. But for example his Watchmen are pretty good. Sure he left out few things and changed few things (this one is the biggest grip I have), but he couldn't make 4 or more hours long movie. In the end it made sense and kept you entertained the whole movie.

ok Matt Damon was on 30 Rock and your point is?
and just cuz he made a cameo doesnt mean it isnt a spinoff the story doesnt even follow DC Comics almost at all its just like the 90s one called Clark Kent or Superman or whatever
Christopher Reeve was the original superman making a cameo on a spin off of superman?
Superman is too powerful. He has like every superpower. It makes him boring to watch.

i hope so and with chris nolan he would make it a classic
if he chooses leibsman i will murder him.
why? tcm: the beginning was an utterly reprehensible, bitter, irredeeming shitfest. it disgraces tobe hooper.
He isn't exactly "choosing" the Director. He'll recommend someone on that list to Warner Brothers.
I hope it won't be as boring as the dark knight.
