[QUOTE=false prophet;42478316]I'm 25ish, never had a pulled tooth ever. 3 of 4 of my wisdom teeth came in between 17 and 20 years old. Now one of them has rotted I guess from not brushing good enough. It's given me crazy pains for nearly 2 years now and I'm finally sick of it. I looked at it with a tiny mirror and it looks horrible so I got an appointment to see a dentist this coming Monday and I'm terrified, not only about getting a tooth removed but because it's a dentist and they're all the way up there next to clowns on my creep-o-meter. How many of you dudes have had a wisdom tooth removed? I will be getting a top wisdom tooth pulled. I've heard horror stories of dry sockets, but I don't suppose it will be as bad as having the nerve of a tooth exposed for over a year, will it?[/QUOTE] I had a SUPER rare case and I ended up have 6 wisdom teeth, two on top and bottom on my left side of my mouth, then the normal one on top and bottom of my right, I had to get rid of them becase the extra two were growing in sideways and was pushing up against all my other teeth When I got my X-rays I had a vein running under those wisdoms teeth and the dentist was like "We see you have a vein under teeh" me "Is that going to be a problem? Doctor " I...I don't think so?" Me "Um, Yes or no?" Doctor "Oh I'm sure it won't be a problem..I think." SO yeah, I was nervous as fuck, plus there surgeon room for wisdom teeth were in the very back in this sketchy ass fucking room that looked like something off a Hostel movie, but you know what, I had all six removed at the same time, it's not bad, it's just the pressure and the noise...oh god the noise is terrible. I didn't eat hard foods for about two weeks. To avoid a dry socket DON'T: Smoke, Drink from a straw, basically anything that requires a sucking motion, they should give you a little syringe that the tip is bent so you could use it to get the food out that gets stuck. Don't use mouth wash. I bled a SHIT TON when I got home and couldn't talk for like 2-3 days, but since you are only having one removed, you shouldn't have to much of an issue, Good luck OP It be over before you know it!
I've had about four of my teeth removed when I was 15, due to the anesthesia I didn't really feel anything, though, and it healed just fine.

I had all four wisdom teeth pulled at one time. I had horrible swelling where I couldn't chew for two weeks, and even then, I didn't think it was that bad. I forgot to clean my sockets for the first week and I ended up not getting dry socket. You'll probably be fine. You won't even notice anything. You'll sit down in the chair, they'll talk to you a bit, check your temp, put some things on your arms and shit so they can measure your heart rate/pressure, etc... Then they'll stick your arm with a needle and off you'll go to sleepy land. You'll wake up right after and not even know what happened. [editline]20th October 2013[/editline] Make sure to gurgle warm salt water from time to time. It'll help stop the bleeding as well as clean the sockets of bacteria. [editline]20th October 2013[/editline] Make sure you tell them you want to be knocked out, or it'll be different from how I mentioned.
Don't worry about the procedure too much, assuming you properly get anesthetics, you'll likely experience minimal to no real pain and most likely not really remember what happened. When I had teeth pulled, the real challenge was not being able to chew solids for a few days. Thats enough to drive some people a little crazy. Best of luck
I've got around 4-5 teeth pulled out, it sure does hurt, but you won't really feel the pain anymore after 1-3 hours.
I had two teeth pulled out because my top teeth were crowded. I still have wisdom teeth to be removed. It doesn't hurt really.
I'm getting all four of my wisdoms cut and pulled out before Christmas, awake, but on IV sedation... All I'm worried about is the noises that I will be hearing, awake! ~Cracks and stuff.
I got all mine out in one session, essentially they put you to sleep, you wake up two hours later, feeling as if you are high from the anasthetic, you take a painkillers and this mouthwash to prevent any infection, couple of days later you forget about them all together. my advice is to get them out all together, as there more or less useless if there impacting( which by the way is leading to your molars being damaged) you WON'T MISS THEM.
