they thought gary johnson won the debate
i dont blame them
Holy shit what a compelling argument, put this one on the mantle next to Thlis' "Retards are still going to vote Trump so I don't think he lost that badly guys"
I'm going to bed because, someone call RIPBILLYMAYS and make sure he makes it home alive.
Man you really are snarky.
What happened to the other 11%?
Undecided, probably.
You would be a lot more convincing if you didn't act like a jerk to everyone you disagree with.
I mean I can't fucking restate my position any further than I already have. I think I've done it 5 times in this thread. As far as I can see it is pretty reasonable.
I think they'd be a lot more convincing if they ever made a compelling argument! Honestly all Raidyr ever does is try to be snarky and tout common leftist memes.
Neither of them should be president, they're both crooked corrupt asshats who will ruin this country for their benefit and fuck us over.
Well suck it up. We have two plausible choices right now. You can either have Hillary, who is essentially Obama Term 3, or Trump, who's an evil idiot.
What the fuck kind of fantasy land are you living in? We're deciding the president here, not the galactic dictator!
Like it or not the US is a highly influential nation in every capacity and the President of the US is a highly impactful position on both a domestic and global scale
People have every right to be concerned about a possible Trump presidency
Man you really are snarky.
I-I dont have arguements! I'll use ad-hominems instead!!
What the fuck kind of fantasy land are you living in? We're deciding the president here, not the galactic dictator!
yeah what fantasy land am I living in where the president matters
everyone knows that the president has absolutely no power whatsoever
Neither of them should be president, they're both crooked corrupt asshats who will ruin this country for their benefit and fuck us over.
The thing is Hillary will fuck us over less than Trump. I know that sounds awful but I'd rather the lesser evil win than the worse one.
What happened to the other 11%?
undecided

But abusing statistics is wrong
tbh though this only helps Trump in the long run. He remains the underdog and gains in more votes where Clinton only further cements her own supporters. Scary, but I'm calling it now, Trump's probably gonna be in the White House and it terrifies me.
The debate really came off as this
Clinton: Prepared, experienced, and detailed in her plans, perhaps only because her policies are with the precedent and consensus of the last couple decades (therefore limited in scope) especially on trade and foreign policy, the rest are common Democrat talking points devoid of what progressives have been demanding and lacking the left appeals of Obama in 08
Trump: Amateur, vague, essentially just ideological, if only because he's pushing a set of nationalist principles without any sort of precedent in the establishment and haven't been deliberated in that context, and aren't so much designed to address systemic needs, but broad popular ones that ultimately come down to fatigue with things like our middle east foreign policy and neoliberal trade deals that are correlated with a decline in the position of the native (often white) working class
These debates are doomed to be a shitshow because this is down to two sets of contradictory interests, two opposing demographics even, that are ideologically at war with each other. Either you're okay with a neoliberal hawk because you're socially progressive, or you want a national system that ditches the overseas empire, is tough on crime, and champions protectionism and a national form of capitalism
Well suck it up. We have two plausible choices right now. there is a fourth choice too but people are far too comfortable with their cushy lives these days to do it though.

Alright, if Clinton doesn't win, I'm going to take a month long ban from Facepunch 24 hours after the results are in.
There's something I have to do before I disappear for a while...

If it really is the worse case scenario we'll see what we saw with John Quincy Adams and every other terrible president; The government won't cooperate and almost everything they will enact into law will inevitably be struck down within a few years.

:toxx:
I really hope this election process doesn't tear america apart, you guys don't deserve that.

Are you joking.
There have been dozens of different posters who have made paragraph long, point by point takedowns of Trump, that almost always get ignored by Trump supporters because they trend to jump ship and abandon threads when someone shows up with researched facts and sources.
lol you're seriously that deluded into thinking that you absolutely HAVE to vote for either or these two morons? you have a third choice, don't vote.

You're legit nuts if you think revolution is a valid option

Sure, don't vote if you don't want to.
You're not gonna accomplish anything by doing so, however. You can say it absolves you of any blame, but to be honest, you're just not helping.

The undecideds and moderates are whats at stake in these debates and based on the reports so far it appears that Clinton is winning on that front
If she can keep this up then victory is going to be a lot easier for her
You're legit nuts if you think revolution is a valid option
Doesn't the US usually support revolutions overseas?
Doesn't the US usually support revolutions overseas?
Completely irrelevant, but nice bait
Neither of them should be president, they're both crooked corrupt asshats who will ruin this country for their benefit and fuck us over.
Both are fucking awful, but Clinton is nowhere near the same league as Trump.
I usually find Clinton's approach of advertising herself as "NOT TRUMP" to be lazy and unconstructive since it does not focus on her policies, on top of how it further perpetuates the idea of this election as voting towards lesser of two evils, and even I'm starting to be okay with that being her approach after seeing Trump's attitude tonight.
Okay I lied because I saw Conscript browsing the thread, I'm really going to bed after this post

Yeah an ideological war between someone who answers fucking questions when they are asked and someone who keeps interrupting the moderator to tell him how wrong he is.

Ah, I see now, you're of the "This whole country is fucked! tear down everything! fuck the state!" mindset.
Let me put it simply, there is nothing more asinine and absurd than the idea of armed revolution against our government.
Not participating in democracy is your choice, but don't act high and mighty about it compared to the millions of other Americans that choose to be an active part of our political process.

And for whom actual facts and truth are completely irrelevant.
Ultimately, Clinton played her cards perfectly tonight. She remained composed, and let Trump's biggest weakness repeatedly exploit itself: his own mouth. She poked and prodded just enough to keep him frustrated and defensive, and then let him dig his own grave each time he had a chance to speak (or each time he tried to steal her chance to speak). I'll admit that Trump's first moments of the debate were fairly strong, and maybe that'll be enough for him, but past the first segment he was constantly frustrated and floundering. Meanwhile, Hillary wore this smug little grin, like, "can you even believe this guy?"
I mean, tonight was to be a major chance for Trump to prove himself. He was supposed to come out and show the country that he is actually capable of reeling in the "reality TV" ego he's hammed up to make it this far, and that he could actually present himself as "presidential." Hillary knew how to keep him off balance, and she soundly prevented him from accomplishing that. I will be shocked if his polls don't take a sharp dip among the undecideds.
I honestly dont think Clinton was "awful", she said plenty of rational and agreeable stuff. Some of it felt a bit pandery but regardless I think her policies are a lot more grounded in reality and fact than Trumps are. I find it hard to believe that anyone who supported Sanders would disagree with much of what Clinton said today.
