The First Presidential Debate - Bart Simpson vs Lisa Simpson - THUNDERDOME
Are you joking.
There have been dozens of different posters who have made paragraph long, point by point takedowns of Trump, that almost always get ignored by Trump supporters because they trend to jump ship and abandon threads when someone shows up with researched facts and sources.
That's irrelevant to the quality of the poster in question. Also, I only tend to stay as long as reasonable discussion is entertained, so as soon as it becomes clear that I'm talking to a wall and they won't listen to the 3+ citations I usually list, they start making up bullshit and it becomes useless to continue arguing any further.
Interesting point here:

in the history of american politics, how many presidential candidates who won the first debate went on to win the election, and how many went on to lose?
there's no real point here, just an observation. theres no realistic conclusion to draw from the debate tonight and what happened with mitt romney
You're legit nuts if you think revolution is a valid option
oh please, both candidates are corrupt as fuck, the government is bought out by corporations, congress doesn't work for the people like they're supposed to. In a situation like the one we have these days that's what supposed to happen, but again people are too comfortable, they have their bread and circuses, they have electricity, water, food, entertainment. So long as people have those amenities they'll willingly ignore corruption and will even fucking vote for it.
Ah, I see now, you're of the "This whole country is fucked! tear down everything! fuck the state!" mindset.
Let me put it simply, there is nothing more asinine and absurd than the idea of armed revolution against our government.
Not participating in democracy is your choice, but don't act high and mighty about it compared to the millions of other Americans that choose to be an active part of our political process.
A political process that's broken and all a sham? Smoke and mirrors? Sure be part of a process that's nothing but a joke. Your vote doesn't mean shit in a general presidential election, maybe in a local state election for governors or congressional representatives, but for president? No, the winner was determined long before anyone announced they were running, it's going to be Hillary and it always was going to be Hillary.

Legit nuts confirmed lol
I'm shocked how much I liked Clinton tonight. Not just compared to Trump, but overall. I think she's pretty good presidential material, ESPECIALLY against Trump.
I agree - I usually don't like her demeanor when it comes to how she pretends to be a humble and lowly outsider while simultaneously making God knows how much money in backroom dealings, and even I thought she had a great presentation tonight and was very well composed, articulate, prepared, etc.
Had she not made questionable and objectionable choices in regards to things like her collusion with DWS/DNC, Correct the Record, etc, she'd have had my vote in a heartbeat despite my otherwise being displeased with her preferential treatment towards special interests.
I really hope this election process doesn't tear america apart, you guys don't deserve that.
Yes we do.
I admit from the moment Trump opened his mouth I got that same feeling as I used to get in highschool when I had to deliver a speech I didn't rehearse, or even write.
Completely irrelevant, but nice bait
I'm sorry. I made a mistake.

Raidyr is snarky because he's been putting up with not only deliberate and willful ignorance from Trump supporters who refuse to admit when they're wrong, but also actual shitposters and gimmicks like Orgonot and Fat White Lump. But I haven't seen what you're describing yet.

you really sound like an intelligent, well read, knowledgeable person and I would definitely arm myself for revolution at your suggestion
Alright, if Clinton doesn't win, I'm going to take a month long ban from Facepunch 24 hours after the results are in.

Toxx accepted, no backing off now.
Yeah an ideological war between someone who answers fucking questions when they are asked and someone who keeps interrupting the moderator to tell him how wrong he is.
That has nothing to do with what I said. Good night
tbh though this only helps Trump in the long run. He remains the underdog and gains in more votes where Clinton only further cements her own supporters. Scary, but I'm calling it now, Trump's probably gonna be in the White House and it terrifies me.
Jesus H. Christ.
Why don't you fly down to Venezuela or over to Syria to see what a truly FUCKED country looks like.
America has its problems, but you're in serious need of a reality check.

I think Trump is proof that the electoral system isn't too corrupt to fix, any reasonably sane corruption wouldn't have allowed him to get to this point.
I really hope this election process doesn't tear america apart, you guys don't deserve that.
I genuinely fear it's too late.
Our country is already so partisan and divided, from racial violence in city streets to congressional gridlock, and the two major parties have elected some of the most divisive and unpopular candidates in recent history.
Regardless of who wins, I'm expecting nationwide violence and rioting.

Anybody know where there might be an archive up yet?
As for those who are questioning CNN: it's hard to get a good sample so quickly and they did not want to delay with their poll.
It's totally valid to post a poll and point out it's flaws.
Even a slight Democrat skew does not account for a nearly 70-30 win.
She won.
are you?
Yes, because I can put myself into the mindset that both sides have and can come to the conclusion that there's a ton of flaws/inconsistencies that they tend to ignore due to bias. I'm not perfect, I'm probably wrong in a lot of things, but I can't really seem to agree with any major candidate even a little bit this cycle.
Legit nuts confirmed lol
I mean hey, millions upon millions of dollars that should be spent on our education are instead going to school board members, superintendents, etc. and not the schools, but somehow that isn't considered embezzlement? I mean he's partially right, but he does word it in one of the dumbest manners possible.
Trump did not win, holy frijole you guys are fucking delusional.
He was either throwing a tantrum or bragging about himself the entire time (hey guys I made a non racist club in palm beach!), he almost never made a valid point except for when he agreed with Hillary on non-partisan topics (durr I don't want other states spying on us either!).
Trump's last words thanks to his constant need to run down the clock were essentially "I support Hillary", what a way to end the debate.

Trump's Advisor: I must apologize for Trump. We have purposefully advised him wrong, as a joke.
Thanks for the condescending comments guys keep it up
what do you mean
you've convinced me, I'm going to trade in my worldly possessions for weapons and body armor and meet you in Washington DC to eliminate the president and take control of the country. When do we march, great leader?

Let the record state that this was posted after the debates ended.
With that said, I still feel like Toxxing. If Hillary Clinton isn't the next president of the united states, ban me until next election season / for 4 years. If that fool gets into the white house, I'm going to have a lot worse shit to worry about than being booted off here.
:toxx:
Wow, Ted Cruz really drank the kool aid
Tonight, Donald Trump had his strongest debate performance of the election cycle. He drew strong contrasts with Hillary on taxes, regulations, law and order, and the disastrous Iran deal.
I'm not expecting rioting if Clinton wins; she is shady, but not divisive like Trump is. As much as I don't think she deserved to win after her BS with DWS/DNC, Correct the Record, etc, I think people will get over it on election night if she wins as opposed to taking up riots. People will be pissed for sure, some for rightful reasons, but nobody outside of some fringe and obscure minority of people will care that much so as to take up violence or unrest.
If Trump wins, I could very easily see riots as most of his whole platform is based around divisiveness instead of unity.

This is real rich coming from you
It's totally valid to post a poll and point out it's flaws.
Yeah, maybe if you can't account for and correct them. This is a skewed sample that they were totally aware of, and yet they still post their poll like it's "THE results." Good statisticians and data scientists know that if a statistic isn't validated to the best of their ability, it should be thrown in the trash to avoid tainting people's minds with inaccurate data.
