Speaking of the music, has anyone ripped out each individual song and put them up somewhere yet? I've seen the tumblr link between pages 2-3 but that for some reason lags my computer into oblivion halfway through the track.

I have a few friends who really love this- a few for the porn, but most because of the visuals and music. The theory that this is about a guy whose obsession over anime waifus had his girlfriend break up with him is pretty much the accepted theory here, especially when you look on his desk and see [sp]the guy and an irl girl together but with the waifu's face pasted over the real girl's.[/sp] Overall, I find it pretty interesting, and it's cool that ex-gainax members still get work nowadays. On a sidenote, it's pretty ironic that this video about (supposedly) how obsession over anime waifus will ruin your life(u) has a lot of artwork from individuals who (you guessed it) seem to have an obsession over anime women. Dunno, seems amusing to me.

that scenes near the middle, and i think its interesting how rei is drawn in that scene almost identically to a scene from nge itself, may have been during one of the angel fights or when they tried to swap eva piolots around

I saw some posts on /a/ talking about how the video might be about the guy getting the girl pregnant and then not taking responsibility and leaving her. It would explain why the guy is so depressed given that there's a scene in the middle implying he's the one who left her and not the other way around That would partially take into account the sexual nature of the video. Just some food for thought.

It "doesn't work" because it's meant for subtitles for dialog. In this case you could could the lyrics as dialogue, but they chose not to provide subtitles. There was a post on this thread a few pages back with a [url=http://reyrah.tumblr.com/post/103427575796/me-me-me-feat-daoko-teddyloid-translated]link[/url] to mostly translated lyrics anyway, and they shed a little light but not much.
