If you look at the Edit History, a majority of the edits were made by the same user. In other words, the studios wanted to create hype for the film, so they said "hey guis, lets make a conlang bigger than Klingon! Let's just take shit from Polynesian languages, throw out all the vowels, jam a bunch of consonants from opposite sides of the IPA together, make an incredibly complex lexicon and grammatical system with shit like consonant mutation and dozens of different noun clusters, and call it Na'vi!" The linguist who created it even said he wanted to see it be "bigger than Klingon," which means we can expect to see Na'vi language books as a part of the film's run to the bank.

Can we be glad the movie is not being turned into some sort of prime-time TV show? I could see a war breaking out at Star Wars and Star Trek conventions. But wait, then we would be mostly having retards killing retards! :cheers:

I'm surprised at how damn fast the Avatar fan base grew. It's been out for...what, a month now? And we've already got shit like this. The worst part (for me) is that this is based around a movie I actually enjoyed. I can bash Twilight fans all day long, so hopefully in time I will learn to treat these the same. They take it too far.
