Facepunch is full of a bunch of little Websters.
Webster You say?
Went through and added a bunch. Hope it helps. [editline]01:57AM[/editline] I guess I was too late. None of mine was in the final result. Do you have any more you need?
I did a few. [editline]09:01PM[/editline] Wait, it deleted the others? Well that's crap. [editline]09:02PM[/editline] Someone put a message in the OP to do them one at a time to minimize the amount of overwriting.
Facepunch needs to go through high school at least before they try to define some words. Holy crap. I tried to fix and add, I got about 50, but then it was just too much.
I added a few. I feel slightly accomplished.
I added some, with explanations done to the best of my (currently inebriated) abilities - http://pastebin.com/f66cbfa36 Ones I added are marked with #'s fffffffff I just read the edited OP.
What? impending = About to happencvbhfgcbfcbcvbcvggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg [editline]02:42AM[/editline]
Nerd. [IMG_thumb]http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/8881/vomitbig.gif[/IMG_thumb]
It was funny once. Stop please.
Sup. You bored? Yeah? Wish to help me improve my English? Hey. No not really. I said no. What?
Which idiot wrote that, Chrono means time.
Well chrono isn't a word, it's a word stem, I believe.
I'm tired of this petty nonsensical irritance.
I defined a few of them for you. Sorta offtopic, but I really like when someone is interested enough in a language to actually want to learn it.
I defined Fowl.
Added several definitions, including a working definition for "chrono-"
Fucked the whole thing up.
I fixed up a few definitions. I also posted the site: http://www.wsu.edu:8080/~brians/errors/ This is useful for identifying common mistakes people make (even some of the most astute) when saying particular words or phrases.
Nerd.
I like the part where you took the image and used it out of context. :eng99:
k. I added several.
I put in about 15 to 20 definitions.
If you have a list of only the words, then it wouldn't be too difficult to write a program that iterates through the list & fetches dictionary definitions for them all through this api: http://services.aonaware.com/DictService/DictService.asmx That may be a little too much of a heavyweight solution though.
It's a root word for time, but it does not mean time within itself, it can't stand by itself as a word. That would be like saying bi means two. Although I didn't define it.
Kronos was the greek lord of time and was a titan, not a god. Chrono means time as well and was named after him. :eng101:
OP, you should be proud of yourself. This thing you're doing is quite awesome and mature.
I put in about 15 to 20 definitions.
Now all of mine are gone. :(
Just put mine in, hopefully I didn't overwrite anyone else's.
Well this has already been ruined... why do people have to go and do that. He only wanted some definitions.
The OP should've never posted that link. We should've posted our own definitions in here, then he could've edited it once the list is completed, himself, saving him all of this grief. I will start with the ones I can remember adding; reclamation = To re-own something that was owned by someone else. fowl = An unpleasant oder, also another name of a Chicken. vigilant = A self-feeling of defense. To be prepared for the unexpected. bloated = A feeling of excess pressure in the abdomen. To feel gassy. A way to explain you ate too much. mantle = A part of a fireplace. scarab = A beetle from Egyptian times. gale = A very strong wind gust caused by a hurricane or a frontal system. Can cause considerable damage. volatile = A saying for something highly unstable. plough = A term used by farmers for crop growing. clarity = To ask the other in a conversation to clear up what was said. To make something clear. probation = To be permanently banned from a place, often used for troublesome kids in school that can't be controlled. redemption = To end something that has been happening for a long time. To announce guilt for a crime. retribution = To get revenge.
Someone spammed "your mum"... LOL
Done crevice, benevolent, fraternize, putrid and fowl, doing more. Did a bunch more
I'll do a few.
Ok made 20 additions
