Forum Discussion v5 - Imagine if you used Ignore List. - General

I believe they pick members who generally aren't trolls and just seem to be nice people on the forums, I don't really know what the process is. If people knew then they would accustom the way they talk to get mod, I guess. I know asking for it doesn't get you, I think even Pascall mentioned "if you have to ask then you probably don't deserve it".

It can vary, but the most recent mods, Nook and Shendow were recommended by an existing mod for good behavior, positive community contributions, and no blatant issues. Doesn’t always mean they’re super well known or anything, but it’s expected that they’re generally more positive influences on other users. But reasons will obvs vary depending on the mod who is recommending them. There’s not a process set in stone right now. But the chances of us doing another election is real slim. So I wouldn’t get all excited about that possibility.

Elections? I think it's better if the mods decide based on thier behaviour and contributions to fp. Alternativly Postal sets a tournament of HL:DM and whoever wins becomes the next mod. Of course Postal will also play.

the fact that i don't even know who sgt doom as a moderator is probably means he's doing his job properly p.s do mods get like paid or something for their time or is that strictly the reserved for the light-blue members

Mods don't get paid. I don't even think Hezzy is being paid for leading this forum.

The election was just pure entertainment. It was obvious they all (or the majority) were gonna be picked as mods anyways. Doom just got a head start. Doom's a good mod anyways so he deserved that first place spot.

I get paid in 50 year old MREs and porn, mostly. But nah, mods haven't gotten any sort of money since Boostar. Got in a bit too late for that :c

also this thread is moving super-fast, but i'm curious, is my ban history particularly bad? not that i necessarily care as i'm not aspiring to move up the facepunch-ladder but i'm just curious because i think i've seen people with worse ban-histories be moderator

you know what'd be cool that slider shit we used to have where u can donate to moderators and choose how much which moderator gets because i wanna pay mods for their effort but i dont wanna get everyones individual paypal or whatever :(

So in regards to NuPunchDeux, are there going to be other boards that are slowly absorbed (I.E Gmod, Source, etc.) or is it going to be one fell swoop.

Saw a few like Doom post above in a joking matter about being paid as mod/etc. so I figured to chip into it. This'll be the only one from me in a goofy matter.

I guess it's hard to quantify shitpost other than "I know it when I see it" so riding the line may be ill advised but I definitely don't call joking about the selection process a shitpost, especially not in comparison to doggy's post
