Forum Discussion v5 - Imagine if you used Ignore List.
There's literally no reason to use the ignore feature if you don't feel the need to live in a personal echo chamber where nobody can contradict you, let alone to call for its function to be expanded to just completely delete all traces of users you don't like from your version of the site.
You know what I do when I don't feel like being contradicted? I don't go on internet forums used by thousands of people and express my opinions.
All they suggested was that the ignore feature be expanded upon. You can argue whether that's a good or a bad idea but you're assuming a whole lot based on very little information.
So with the date tracker on posts, my horrible, horrible posts will be permanently archived for everyone to see. I will never be able to outrun the shame of when I went on a tirade about customization in the 2016 version of DOOM's multiplayer.
Not all posts are moved, only posts from gmod, rust forums.
I am pretty sure I posted a lot in the gmod threads back then. After all, it was the main time playing mod for me. Weird.
Is there a way for mods to see who the most ignored user is
and also who ignores the most users
I've always been curious why people use the ignore feature. Forums are about discussion, it seems strange to cut out opinions that don't break the rules just because the person has said things you didn't like in the past.
Off the top of my head I've ignored maybe one or two users on this forum, total, but well, sometimes people just post so much worthless shit that you can't be bothered to read, so putting them on your ignore list is easier. Some people are just a waste of time to interact with. If there's an interesting discussion going on, quotes will show that anyway and you can just expand their posts.

let's be real it's probably going to be He Who Must Not Be Named
It takes a lot less energy to scroll past a post you dislike, than putting someone on an ignore list.
Never once have I used that feature. Never will I apply it to anyone.

There's actually functional reasons to ignore people sometimes. Ie this:

I don't know if it's possible anymore but he posted quote bombs on each of those alts which causes the tab to freeze trying to process it all. Putting him on your ignore list, however, completely bypasses the issue.
I've only used the ignore function once on this forum because trying to decipher the person's posts was painful. The user ended up getting permabanned in less than 5 months for being a shitposter anyway, so I probably didn't miss out on any posts that actually furthered discussions.
If the feature returns, I think the ignore function shouldn't show the little bumps between posts, but maybe a button at the top or bottom of each thread they've posted in with "Show/Hide all posts by ignored users in this thread."
The eyes on newpunch are kind of odd looking without any sort of arc around the sides or something, it took me a while to realize that it was actually supposed to be the Facepunch logo.
For a second I thought it was some sort of new strike system for getting banned :v:
I think I've maybe used the ignore feature once when custom forums were a thing and there was one dude who kept coming in to post inflammatory shit that nobody ever did anything about
I use it to block avatars when I'm on mobile.
I was freaking out last night because I hadn't made an account beforehand, and I couldn't find the new forums on google and looked everywhere.
I thought I lost you guys

What exactly does migration migrate?
I might even just start fresh. I'm not interested in coins and levels anyways.

I just migrated the other day. If you've already made an account on Newpunch, it'll merge the two, keeping the new account's name. It also rewards x amount of coins per posts from your Oldpunch account. It also seems to only migrate/count posts in the Rust/Gmod sections, Garry said it'll take awhile to get the rest of the posts from Oldpunch over.
You'll keep your gold too.
Is merging done automatically? I made an account with the same email and username.

I like new forum but I don't want to use it until this one goes offline.
I am lost as to which one is more ongoing in terms of news discussions etc...

Stick to using the old forum where available, because moderation is much in check. Once forums start to be migrated, they're pretty much removed from this site, meaning you really have to be using the new forum to continue discussion.
I have like 2 people on my ignore list.
One keeps doing shit in games that annoy people, then complains when people get annoyed with him.
The other seems to play every new game in existence, then goes into their GGD thread and posts nothing but criticism and rarely if ever says anything positive.
I still don't know why stiffy is on my ignore list.
Is there a file size limit on the new forum? I only see a dimensions limit.

around 2mb, after that i just get errors
I suggested this before for this forums and we got it implemented and I will suggest it again for new forums:
Can we have thread highlight when you hover over it?
On ultrawide monitors - if you go on right side to press latest post - it's easy to get confused on thread you're clicking.
or alternatively - have "Go to Last Post" on left side under thread title?

I've tried this and this is basically what I get

Which account am i supposed to be typing in? I assumed it was my facepunch account but i've used the exact same username/password and email/password to no avail each time.

Facepunch email/password
If your password has unicode in it it'll throw that error at you too. You need to change password in that case
Yesterday I joined via Google and was able to post on the new forums, but today I got a message to verify my email. When I clicked on the link in the email I got a "permission denied" message.
I can still view the new forums but I can't post. Not sure why this has happened.
[editline]23rd November 2017[/editline]
Now I have logged out and I am getting Permission Denied even though I'm in the process of migrating. Can't see newpunch at all.
[editline]23rd November 2017[/editline]
Nevermind, I found out it was happening because I was opening my verification email on a different device.
