Hey mods, is it worth having a discussion about things like butre's avatar? I was trying to think of a way to voice my discomfort in an argument for adding to the av restrictions, but i realized, it's just me being uncomfortable about it and that doesn't warrant moderation. Given that it's been up for ages, I'm wondering if you guys have already talked about it and whether or not it'd be a good idea to talk about it.
It’s not NSFW. It’s fine.
Is there a lock reason yet? Cause I can't seem to find it and one of my threads was locked without explanation.
nop, can't do lock reasons yet
I never understood people getting uncomfortable over avatars, it's just a bunch of pixels
Can we not go through this fucking circle again?
this ride never ends
why even go on facepunch, it's just a bunch of pixels
my little facepunch: reductionism is magic
why get arrested over cp, it's just a bunch of pixels
Guys i just wanted an answer from a mod and Pascall graciously gave me just that, question answered, we don't need to continue with this. It was probably a less-than-great idea to bring it up to begin with so let's please not beat the horse any deader
When the alert function is enabled, I assume it will no longer be bannable to call out users in threads they haven't posted in. Is that a fair assumption?
When the alert function is enabled, I assume it will no longer be bannable to call out users in threads they haven't posted in. Is that a fair assumption?
It will probably depend on context. Stuff like "DEFEND THIS TUDD" would still probably be banned, but not posts that were more constructive in intent, such as "summoning JohnnyMo1" or "what is 's opinion on [topic they are versed in]?"
My postcount says I've posted over 500 times, but I don't remember making anything close to that amount of posts. Any ideas? I searched around but couldn't find any information.

Speaking of bans, I'm not sure if it's been suggested but; On newpunch, if we can fundraise a ban on someone with gold, can we fundraise someone being unbanned?

Meta could be considered the more correct section for that but it is a question thread. Oh event log shows everything, it was in the wrong section. :v:
Thread was originally in the Sandbox Game section, I moved and banned user. [editline]30th November 2017[/editline] Kiwi you motherfu-
Nookyava banned Menschlich for 12 hours in How do I get coins? for "Posting in wrong section" Nookyava moved How do I get coins? from Sandbox Game General to Fast Threads
Oh, okay :v: Although Garry might want to change the fact that this is all S&box forum users see: [t]https://my.mixtape.moe/kustqu.png[/t]
Thanks for the help. I did a google search for "site:facepunch.com Wingedturtle" and got a bunch of results. Boy is it cringy looking back.

Also you guys should make it so if somebody reports a user, and that user gets banned, whoever reported them should get a coin. Would give people more of a reason to report, especially since the main reason people don't report is just laziness anyway.

Browsing and posting nabs you coins, but there's a rate cap to discourage spamming, so what would be the limit on reports? If generally mods are sifting through at least one thread and a user's history for every ban, couldn't report spam become a real obstruction?
I've never felt like clicking the report button which takes 1 millisecond has really been too much of a chore to bother with.
You would be surprised believe me. I can recount more than a few occasions where I've stumbled across the most egregious and terrible posts and spam threads, and they weren't in the reports even after several hours or replies. Let's face it, bribing people to do the right thing isn't really such a terrible idea in the long run. If you make a bogus report, when you get banned you'll get docked coins instead of earning them, which would prevent any concept of 'report spam'. I don't even know if a system is at all possible, but if you could implement it without much hassle I don't see why not.

I

also aside from the obvious banning people that continually make dumb reports
tbh this makes me less willing to report people. Like obviously I get "I support the second amendment and believe in a flat tax rate" isn't really flaming or trolling or spam and how reporting that sort of post over and over might be bannable, but I've seen a lot of opinions, particularly in the last year or so, where being able to tell the difference between genuinely held belief and contrarian attempt to derail conversation is quite difficult.
