My brother had two rats, both female I think, they were so cute :) I've never had any myself because rodents + cats is a bad idea.

Yeah, it does. Though I must say that cats actually are an animal we've had a close relationship with for thousands of years, it's like dogs, kind of. (Both got domesticated for human use)

Your basic point is true but there's other factors in it, doesn't mean it's a good thing though.
I'm getting a rat soon because it's been a while since my rabbit died.
Those cats are corpses taken from animals shelters---the ones euthanized because no one wanted them (the fate of 70% of all shelter cats). I'm going to dissect one later this year in college.
Side note: I've wanted some rats for years now. But also a hedgehog.
