it just sounds disgusting and barbaric when used in the context of guns, especially by an authority such as the NRA. [editline]2nd February 2013[/editline] how ive thought it was a joke for so many years says it all, really.
what's barbaric about the right to self-defense?
Although dangerous, like a hammer. A car is designed and intended for personal transport. A hammer is designed and intended for construction. A gun is designed and intended for only one thing.
I'm so fucking tired of this argument. What the fuck does it matter what's the intended purpose of something? Inanimate objects can't do anything by themselves. Just because your vacuum cleaner is made with the sole purpose of cleaning your floor it doesn't mean it's gonna eventually do it by itself. What's more just because something has intended purpose it doesn't mean it's gonna be used for that purpose. There are hundreds of millions of privately owned guns in US yet I don't see them all being used for that. It's just so childish level logic. Something is made to do a certain thing therefore it will be used for that purpose no matter what. You need someone willing to kill another person for a gun to kill someone. And that's the fucking problem, because even if you would magically make all guns disappear you'd still have people willing to kill other people and I assure you they'd find a way. And then you have to realize that banning guns will not make them disappear. There's gonna be a huge market of illegal guns. And since there are illegal drugs in the most secure prisons and illegal immigrants in US (entire people who can't be disassembled into small parts and assembled once within the borders) I'm pretty sure that guns will be smuggled into the country. And to make them disappear you'd need to spend trillions. Instead you could spend that money on making people not want to kill other people. Which is the real problem no matter how many scapegoats you'll try to find. But that's hard to fix so lets ignore it right?
Nobody needs guns people need cars theres the difference. I don't get this whole gun thing, why do you guys need guns, someone please enlighten me, is it to shoot cans off a fence or something?
You don't need a single reason for something to be legal. Following your logic sports cars and swimming pools should be banned because "why do you need sports cars is it to ride above the speed limit or look at it in your garage or something? people die because of them, ban" and "why do you need swimming pools, is it to swim back and forth or something? people die because of them, ban. if you want to exercise you can use a stationary bike"
as opposed to what? you'd be hard pressed to find one made after 1950 or so
Model 1891 Mosin Nagant, here's what it should look like (not mine specifically) [editline]2nd February 2013[/editline]
if he was going by the legal definition of antique, antique mosins are pretty damn rare
It was, and I got it for pretty cheap compared to other prices.

My 1891 was made in 1922
