I think Barrett woulda been cool even as a Samus clone, the only real differences there would need to be is maybe change the up and down specials into something else.
His neutral B can be his Big Shot limit, even in FF7 it charges up like a big circle.
Less work overall and an even cooler concept then just -sword guy-

I never played a Final Fantasy game ever yet and the only character I know from that franchise is Cloud.
I kind of wish I did know a little more though, like why does Cloud hover during his run animation.

I would have loved it if it was Tidus complete with English only voice acting and his only taunt is that stupid laugh.
If we get Snake, it'd have to be MGS3-era Big Boss, since 3 was the most recent entry on a Nintendo console.
That was unexpected but seriously if I wanted to play as Cloud I would buy Dissidia.

...I mean, it's a really good DS game, and it was a exclusive until a tablet port happened.
All things considered I would have preferred someone like Black Mage. There is so much damn potential there, just look at Super Smash Flash. It's possibly the most fun character I've ever played in a Smash clone.
I'm pretty curious about all those summons, though. I mean, they all look like they could be final smashes in their own right. How the hell is that going to work?
