the second one had terrifying mem requirements I hope they optimized their engine for this release for midrange
I tried so damn hard to get into the Witcher 2, but the linear-ness took me out of it. If this game delivers on the open world type gameplay/story, confirmed GOTY (for me at least). If this hype keeps building up, i'm gonna buy another 770 just to keep ultra settings with consistent frames for this goddamn game.
the second one had terrifying mem requirements I hope they optimized their engine for this release for midrange
I never had a problem with it when I only had 8 gigs. I'd consider that fairly standard issue on a gamer rig these days, even a midrange one.
agh why does this have to come out NEXT YEAR!!!! I mean that's awesome that they will have time to really make this game shine, but it also worries me that consoles may dumb it down. on a good note, it does leave me some time to beat the witcher 2
I'm feeling a little disappointed about all of this Witcher 3 news. Not because of Witcher 3 itself, but I had a very very hard time getting into Witcher 2, and never even bothered finishing it. The combat just felt so different compared to the first one. People argue over keyboard/mouse over 360 controller, but it felt unnatural and clunky to me either way. I don't want to bother with Witcher 3 until I have beaten Witcher 2, but I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong to make the game feel so difficult and unplayable compared to the first Whicher which I loved.
really? it the other way around for me, I played the second game first and decided to buy the first because the second was so great. I can't even get past the tutorial mission the combat bores me so much
I never got why people had so many problems with the combat in TW2. It was simple but still relied a lot on reflexes and technique. After a few hours I'd become a swordmaster and run around using counter attacks that do a crazy amount of damage to human types [editline]5th June 2014[/editline] I hope they bring back the monsters they had in TW1. They were all so weird and interesting

They were all so weird and interesting
one of the things about TW2 (which wasn't apparent to me on my first playthrough) is that you need to prepare for every fight, especially once you get to a new chapter. if you're playing on anything normal or higher, you need some of the best gear on the chapter you're playing in if you want to have an advantage. i played on normal and the game had the weirdest fluctuation of difficulty i've experienced in a game. at chapter one, i had tons of problems with the local monsters until i got the kayran armor. then, i could walk through the woods and not take a single scratch. chapter two was easy until the end where [sp]henselt attacks vergen and you fight off the invaders[/sp] and the knights there were extremely tanky (the fight overall was fairly easy since you could push half of them off the walls and the other half focused your teammates but still, they were difficult to deal with). chapter three was easy until you fought [sp]Saesenthessis/Saskia[/sp] where she dealt a buttload of damage with attacks hard to dodge and was tanky as hell, your only chance was the spam quen and spam heavy attacks unless you prepared for the fight beforehand and drank a few potions and got the best gear. also, some of the monsters in the sewers did quite a bit of damage although were easy to dispatch.
Well that just got me in the mood to play the first two games again.
The politics is what makes this series so interesting to me.

After some levels in the swordsmanship path, save for a few encounters, the game just gets easier and easier.
btw, 750s-760s are actually worse than 670s-680s. if you want a 700 series card thats better than the last generation of cards, you need to buy 770 or higher: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html put it this way, my 670 can run witcher 2 on highish and chug to like 50fps. a 750 card would probably melt completely on 3.
Oh, I always get confused by the numbers on graphic cards if different generaiton. I could play Witcher 2 on high around the same(with a HD5750) I think but I do play on 1280*1024
Charles Dance plays the Nilfgaardian Emperor, yes.
Cool! What about The Witcher himself? It sounds like hes being voiced by Petyr Baelish from Game of Thrones?
Cool! What about The Witcher himself? It sounds like hes being voiced by Petyr Baelish from Game of Thrones?
Geralt is still Doug Cockle. I think he's going to be the only one who has voiced the same role in all three games.
i told myself not to preorder but cd projekt is NOT making this easy
This game. Is the only game I'm honestly waiting for.
i cant get into W2 at all. controls always feel wonky and non responsive and i kept getting killed in what felt like 2-3 hits right off the bat.
i cant get into W2 at all. controls always feel wonky and non responsive and i kept getting killed in what felt like 2-3 hits right off the bat.
Was your fps low? Controls feel very unresponsive in W2 when your fps is low. I had to turn down the graphics to get it to 40-50 and then it felt smooth. If you die too fast, turn down the difficulty.
i cant get into W2 at all. controls always feel wonky and non responsive and i kept getting killed in what felt like 2-3 hits right off the bat.
I'm having trouble trying to get into 1, it's just so clunky :(

If you die too fast, turn down the difficulty.
its at 60, just geralt is very whimsical with his sword swings and it feels awkward since you have literally no invincibility frames or even flinch frames. so mid swing i get hit 4 times and die instantly. i really want to get into it because of the politics and characters, but the game play was too clunky and convoluted to me.
I hope what I did in the second game politically affects the outcome of the conflict and my choices in the next game.
Given the lengths CD Projekt goes
Didn't they fix chin-drinking in one of the cutscenes as part of TW2's enhanced edition?
I didn't know this game existed until now, but the trailer and the mention of politics made me feel obligated to get all of them.
Maybe it's so next-gen it has dynamic hair growing technology. Given the lengths CD Projekt goes, that might not be out of the question. February 24, 2015 is too fucking far away.
Thing is... they actually did. According to one of game magazines, Geralt's facial hair will grow and you can shave it. If you want to.
Thing is... they actually did. According to one of game magazines, Witcher's facial hair will grow and you can shave it. If you want to.
No way. Why would they do that. Like, that's such a tiny detail. CD Projekt are nuts.
Thing is... they actually did. According to one of game magazines, Geralt's facial hair will grow and you can shave it. If you want to.
For some reason this, of all things, makes me want the game
Wait, now you're fighting for the Nilfgaardians?
Nilfgaard did nothing wrong.
Wasn't there a big update to make the combat easier in TW2? And people are still having trouble? I haven't replayed it since it was updated
These trailers really make me want to try a Witcher game.
Wasn't there a big update to make the combat easier in TW2? And people are still having trouble? I haven't replayed it since it was updated
I managed to beat the game on the new super hard difficulty. How the hell am I supposed to afford the new armor and weapon sets they added? The Blasphemer set from Flotsam requires an amount of materials that's only possible to have obtained by act 2 and by then it's already obsolete. The sword from the blasphemer set drains health while drawn unless the entire set is completed but I didn't know that so I sold off my other steel swords so when it came time to fight the guards outside of Loredo's crib, I had a sword that was constantly draining my health(but replenished from hitting other enemies) and due to the effect of life draining, it makes the screen get darker which is a huge problem when you're fighting at night
