I think the impression you have of homosexuals is that of the flamboyant kind. The thing is, most gays try to fit in with society and act like anyone else, and treat it like it's nothing special, but again and again, society rejects and ridicules them. So that is why they are speaking out. A quiet majority doesn't change things.
If you read all of my posts, I specifically said that it wasn't all gays that were like this.
And exactly: SOCIETY ridicules them. Laws are totally going to change that, right? What's the point of having laws that allows you to do something if people are going to egg you for it? What we really need is not laws; it's to teach TOLERANCE and CONCILIATION.
If you want my opinion, I'd be pretty sure laws to force people will only worsen matters; intolerant people will grow more intolerant and angry due to things being forced unto them, and the victimized homosexuals will make more pressure due to the ensuing increase in negative behavior, and so on and so on.
Anyways, isn't the U.S. pride and goal "freedom"? Tell me, what freedom is there for a priest if he's forced to wed people he doesn't want to wed?
The gays likely have the money to go somewhere they can wed if they can actually afford a wedding (at least, they should. At any rate, I think it should be taken in consideration when they wish for that.)
I'm bi, and I don't give a damn.
Don't gays have civil partnerships which give them all the benefits of marriage?
Is this the website that has the day of silence thing?
I'm very liberal on the topic but I still think things like the day of silence won't get anything done.
Signing up on a website isn't going to change people's opinions about homosexuals
Not immediately but every little bit counts.
I'm bi, and I don't give a damn.
yeah cause you have something to fall back on

I give a damn.
