this show looks hilarious and I will be watching it
No question it generates backlash. Part of the truth I find in these systemic critiques (i.e: institutions be them legal, cultural, or otherwise, invested in class/race/etc) is the point that your gains, or your parents, didn't occour in a vaccume. its not like every generation enters the world tabula rasa and then makes or breaks when they hit 30, then enter our cultured society. From the moment you are born you are born INTO a white supremacist / capitalist society.
The advantages you get from being on the right side of the antagonism (poor vs rich, white vs black, etc) are too numerous to count, and sometimes too subtle to even detect.
Nothing can occur in a vacuum on earth. However that doesn't extend that people should sacrifice what they have made or what their parents are made solely because others are disenfranchised.
You also discuss in absolutist terms when you mention of Poor vs Rich and White vs Black, however that doesn't necessarily work in the real world, seemingly as well that you equate that the USA (and probably by extension some other western countries) as a white supremacy, however that doesn't necessarily hold any ground because there's no institutional, or nationally accepted, discrimination against the colour of skin. However there are certain things that have happened where whites were persecuted, which is how the Zimbabwean government confiscated all lands from Whites and told the nation that white's cannot own land.
you know I've found it funny growing up around a hispanicly dominated area, the so called race issue was barely there with the white people, but it was with non-white people. I remember walking a friend home and she was scared shit because I crossed into the gang territory where she lived and was white.
The people who greatly push the white privilege narrative are the most racist and sexist people I've met.
Eh, how is that comparable to the things people use as evidence of white privilege though? Do you associate gangs with good education + job opportunities?

It is less a question of sacrificing what they made and more a question of giving back the surplus capital that they obtained through force, or was given to them as a gift but none-the-less was extracted through violence.
Look at Zimbabwea's land ownership ratio white vs black before the government made the move to reclaim land. I do think they went perhaps too far, but something needed to be done given that it wasn't just "coincidence" that white folks ended up with all that land.

... how fucking racist/stupid do you even have to be to think this is a good post
The website they've created is really top notch. Take, for example, this amazing graph.

I, for one, always make my graphs without having any numbers or citations.
I took a tour of UCLA 2 years ago, there's a huge amount of asians there.

Probably the sort of guy who gets his willy hard over the thought of migrants drowning.
Everybody knows Argonians are the best race, because they make the best stealth archers.

Telling racist or sexist jokes doesn't automatically make you racist/sexist.
I didn't know MTV made comedy shows still
What I hate about this trend is that it assumes that all white people have equal privilege and have pretty much the same culture. As an Ashkenazi, I have a very different experience and culture than my Armenian or Slavic friends.
They assume that every white person is middle class and living in some well-off suburb in California.
It's like how some people have a habit of calling every Asian person Chinese :v:
Finally a TV program just for milkandcooki

"We are our choices" ~ Jean Paul Sartre
Also the joke is antisemetic and worst of all, unfunny
i honestly thought this was a CH skit making fun of MTV

It's hilarious too because there are ethnic Arabs who are sometimes considered "White" because they aren't the stereotypical dark brown :v:
This is the dumbest shit, this is why nobody watches tv anymore :v:

Guess most comedians hate their own race.

Using quotes to argue with someone is just saying you don't know how to argue through your own words.
Also, pretty sure that quote means the choices you make in life make who you are, not what you joke about.

You realise that it's primarily mocking anti-semetic conspiracies, right? Do you get mad at the "jet fuel can't melt steel beams" jokes too or is it just things where you can be offended on someone else's behalf?
Did jew get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?

If I remember correctly, the definition of being white is having ancestry in Europe, Northern Africa, or the Middle East. Technically, they are white.
that comment about feeling something belongs to you because you're white, what?
Don't bother trying to understand what she's saying or why she would say that. The words are most likely falling out of her mouth subconsciously as she stumbles through the mental gymnastics of recalling something provocative and interesting she read on Tumblr regarding race so she can look smart and progressive with a microphone in front of her face. This entire thing is a complete joke, just more fuel added to the fire of the cool new trend of hating yourself for being white and being apologetic for things you've never done. I can't imagine what the draw could be for any white people who are excited to watch this; "Man, I can't wait to watch a 20-something Asian dude tell me how I'm inherently shit, spoiled, possessive, probably racist, and overall everything wrong with society for being white. I'll make sure to set a reminder!"

If that's what he was going for it didn't come across to me, mostly because I've seen the exact same joke to represent the exact same argument in earnest
They assume that every white person is middle class and living in some well-off suburb in California.
I have a hard time believing that maybe more than, like, ten people on this Earth actually believe this.

Like, I think it's really easy to assume that the notion of white privilege suggests that all white people have a stellar life just for being white, but that just simply is not what that idea is trying to suggest. You might have the occasional loon who takes it way too far, but of course you're going to have weenies who think they know what they're talking about when they really don't everywhere.
Didn't whites just stop being the majority in California? This completely invalidates all the non-minority privilege arguments in that state at least.
If I remember correctly, the definition of being white is having ancestry in Europe, Northern Africa, or the Middle East. When we say it we mostly mean people from Europe.
White people are so sissy about being white.
I am Jewish so I have the authority to say that joke is okay, so just like chill. That's how this works right?

"Whites weren't the majority in apartheid south Africa, so that invalidates all claims of race-based oppression going on. Now go back to the black homelands and be quiet."
or, in case you don't see, you don't have to be the largest chunk of the population to be the dominant demographic. I'm sure California faces the same unbalanced incarceration rates and other problems that the rest of the US has.
