Bolero - Ravel
Hilltop Hoods - Recapturing the Vibe (Restrung) OR Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls (S&M) Basically, any epic song which you add orchestra to makes it that much more epic.
Judas Priest - Metal Meltdown

Between The Buried And Me- White Walls I can't find the whole song on youtube but here's the solo, which is fucking amazing.
One of Pink Floyd's more epic works.
Too many songs to really pin point just one: Escape - Craig Armstrong Ride the Lightning - Metallica Raining Blood - Slayer For Whom the Bell Tolls - Metallica
In my opinion, Hemispheres is more epic than either. I mean, it doesn't get more epic than Geddy Lee singing "We will call you Cygnus, the God of Balance you shall be!" -Bunch of fucking ace songs-
I love you man. But I'm going to have to say: Gates of Delirium - Yes Best song and album ever. This is a close second: You mentioned Hemispheres, which is one hell of a song too.

It would be impossible to call any one more epic than the other, the sound is just too different. I've always heard Yes as a vertical band, King Crimson, Genesis, and Van Der Graaf Generator as horizontal bands, and Rush somewhere in between (diagonal?). A Plague Of Lighthouse Keepers has some painful moments in it, but there's no doubting the amount of badassery to be found in the tune. I was going to upload a live version of this track, but the atmosphere is captured so much better on the album. Robert Fripp contributes a guitar solo at the end that cadences onto one weird-ass chord. Time by Pink Floyd. Although I do prefer to listen to the whole Dark Side of the Moon album as song in its on right if you get my drift.
In my opinion, it just sounds epic.
"Shores of Orion" By: God Is An Astroaut Reaches my favourite climax ever in a song. Goosebumps every time.
If you think ANYTHING by GIAA then listen to GY!BE (Godspeed You! Black Emperor) since GIAA is just a poor ripoff of GY!BE.

On what grounds? Everything I've heard from them sounds like GY!BE but without the incredible soul that dozen or so members of GY!BE put into their music.
