Ok, I can really respect that. It's actually a real application of the idea some games are going for recently, "You are responsible for all this death and such. If you don't try to be the hero, and walk away, it would not happen." [sp]Best comparison I can think is Spec Ops. Everything in that is your fault because you try to play hero. If you hadn't gotten involved, things wouldn't have gotten so bad.[/sp] Its the same thing here most likely.
This implements it better than spec ops, cause it actually has things that happen when you choose to not play. Instead of the game chastising you at the end for not playing, which in The Line's case is "Turn off the game and forget everything"
I would honestly say this could end up being the best execution of the whole idea of the player being the problem thus far. With other games, they go for the whole "You chose to do this, you are the problem." But thats not really exactly fair just saying "Well don't play the game." This actually puts that choice in the player's hands, so whatever happens literally is their fault because they do legitimately have the ability to not get involved while still actually playing the game.
Also the guy asks you nicely to wait, they don't say "press X to do a thing" then "that was a bad thing, you dick!"
God damn it Far Cry 4, why you make me want to buy a Ubisoft game? I've been on the fence about it for a long time now. I really don't want to support Ubisoft with money. But I really want to support the Far Cry 4 dev team with money. They are awesome, and the game is awesome already for having something like this in, even if it'll fail on launch. [sp]whish I could just pay them directly and pirate the game or something[/sp]

Reward them for good actions, and don't when they do bad. If Far Cry 4 is really good, and they see that resulting in higher profit, then they may actually go "Maybe cramming out shit yearly isn't the absolute best idea."
I'm not going to get it until the price drops a bit, but that was actually really good. I had a great deal of fun with FC3 and Blood Dragon, so if it is more of the same I think it's going to be a fairly solid shooter, even if it is more of the same it should still be some fairly mindless fun.
To be honest, I think this is the ending I would actually want. Pagan Min seems like a cool guy. A bit insane, but still that 'cool uncle'' guy.
Already this game seems to have a hundred times more soul than the new assass. I can't wait for the soundtrack to come out aswell. What's with the massive spoilers though? Is all this[sp]family shit going to get revelaed in some huge way in the main storyline?[/sp]

I can't wait to play this - I was beginning to think that a game set in my neck of the woods would never happen. Some of us in the Indian community have been watching this game with a lot of interest because we wanted to see how authentic the voice acting was - Ubisoft did a bang up job, especially with the swearing.
[sp]Makes me kind of want a parallel plot where you go around fucking shit up with Pagan Min[/sp]
This would be incredible.
To be honest, I think this is the ending I would actually want. Pagan Min seems like a cool guy. A bit insane, but still that 'cool uncle'' guy.
He reminds me of Uncle Dave from Postal 2
reminds me of how you were once able to stay with unatco in deus ex but it got cut
The only thing impressive about this is it isn't being sold in a cash shop as the ultimate shortcut
man, it would be awesome if they did another expansion that was as big as blood dragon where you side with Min.
This is nice.
Well, I picked this up on console and ended up making a cup of tea. Got back but got a text. Mid text this cutscene started playing. Guess I now have to force my way through the game for what will likely be a worse ending, as that was really cool.
Spec Ops would be so great if it had endings like this, where you would be able to: [sp]Not shoot the first people you find[/sp] [sp]Call it in once you find the survivors like you're supposed to[/sp] [sp]Not shoot American soldiers[/sp] [sp]Surrender when the 33rd lets you[/sp] [sp]Only use a little bit of White Phosphorous[/sp] [sp]Not trust CIA[/sp]
Pagan Min did nothing wrong. [editline]17th November 2014[/editline]
In comparison to Far Cry 3's ending where if you sided with [sp]the tribal group, the leader kills you/Jason for whatever reason. Your mission in FC3 was supposed to rescue your friends and escape the island. Even after all of the mental shit Jason had gone through, he shouldn't forget about his friends.[/sp] I don't know FC4's ending yet, but I hope they raise the concern of following what your character was supposed to do (ala. Spec Ops: The Line) during the climatic ending. It still needs to be a good ending in some way otherwise it'll suffer the same fate as FC3. I'm going to assume Min will desecrate your mom's ashes or whatever in the turning point of the campaign.
(Big fat spoilers) [sp]Pagan Min does not desecrate your mother's ashes. In fact, in the end when you're given a choice to either let him live or kill him, he sets up a nice dinner for you and points out, "remember when I just told you to sit down and wait for me? All this violence could've been avoided if you just listened." If you let him live he points out that Kyrat is yours by blood, Mohan was actually a huge asshole that killed your sister, his entire "reign of terror" was him getting revenge on Mohan and his goons, and when you put your mother's ashes next to your sister's he leaves saying, "You get Kyrat, but I GET THE HELICOPTER!" Then you get a radio call from Sabal, a rebel leader and ally, saying "good work, we could use you as a right hand man bringing Kyrat back to it's roots." And then you discover the rebels were drug-trafficking terrorists all along and you antagonized the United States, who was working with Min.[/sp]
[sp]"Get it out of your system?"[/sp] I appreciate how tongue-in-cheek that was, you're there to play Far Cry, not [sp]sit around for 10 minutes and then do something "emotional".[/sp] I know videogames are all about different strokes for different folks, but if that's what they were going for, props to them.
I'm disappointed the game just ends there. There should be an SOL freeroam where you just do shit with Min
Sol?
