• 5% to 10% Of Men Can't Legally Buy Condoms That Fit Without Huge Risk Of It Breaking - Simple Fix: A
Well that in itself is a possible outcome of allowing the sale of larger condoms. However, it is completely f***ing null and void since the EU sells larger condoms and has no issue with it. And even if that still is a POSSIBLE OUTCOME of allowing the sale of larger condoms, A CURRENT AND ACTUALLY REAL PROBLEM is that millions of men are CURRENTLY at a higher risk of getting sexually transmitted diseases and causing unwanted pregnancy.
"Millions of men" is an enormous overstatement, but hey. I do agree with you that the US is going the wrong way about a lot of sexual education and politics, but the FDA definitely made a decision that benefits the vast majority of US citizens, which in the end means they did just what they were supposed to do even if they could have done it better. [editline]16th July 2015[/editline]
i for one, as a gay man, think you have a lovely dick. This thread has reminded me of a time when I endured condom breakage. Fortunately, it was very early on and we were able to detect it. I really don't see this petition going anywhere sadly. I don't think we're going to be able to raise enough awareness just between Reddit and Facepunch to change a federal standard.
I too find his dick to be quite marvellous and I'm not even all that gay.

[editline]16th July 2015[/editline] I too find his dick to be quite marvellous and I'm not even all that gay.
Precisely. In the ideal society, we wouldn't be concerned with budgets and condoms would be made to exact size and readily available at your local drug store. Sadly, we don't live in the perfect world and our current state is sufficient. It's not nearly as sensationalist as every post coming from Duplolas is made out to be. I'm sure if you truly needed it, you could find a U.S based manufacturer who would match your size or at least close enough.
you're choosing to completely ignore what we're saying in favor of some fantasy of yours; how about bothering to read past "this person has a complaint and i have a preconceived notion so i won't read it" i'm saying it is dangerous for me to wear the largest condoms i'm aware of at my local stores because of this i don't intend to fuck anyone outside of a committed relationship, but at least i have the benefit of being a gay man who prefers bottoming anyway
I understand what you're getting at, but are you seriously suggesting that it's ok to have unprotected sex simply because condoms make you uncomfortable? Notice how I still use the word 'uncomfortable', because nowhere does it say in the study a tight condom will hurt your dick. I also understand that ill-fitting condom usage contributes to improper condom use and condom failure, but to bring up these reasons to try and justify unprotected sex is ridiculous.
"Millions of men" is an enormous overstatement, but hey. At least 1% of men in the United States are too big to wear the condoms that we can legally buy in the United States. There is currently 318.9 US citizens. 1% of that is 3.189 million. Which makes that NOT an overstatement.
I really hope this doesn't turn into a thread about size comparisons, this is an important issue. MILLIONS OF MEN RISK GETTING SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES OR CAUSING UNWANTED PREGNANCY BECAUSE OF THIS! http://www.businessinsider.com/afp-penis-size-researchers-provide-the-long-and-short-of-it-2015-3 The average length worldwide is 5.16. The average width is 4.5.
Please can you stop shouting holy shit. We get this is important, but you really make this cause look like a tinfoil-hat conspiracy. Also, I can't believe the FDA has banned bigger size condoms, why would they even do that. Anyway, I think you should be able to get free condoms every once in a while.
I understand what you're getting at, but are you seriously suggesting that it's ok to have unprotected sex simply because condoms make you uncomfortable? I never once said that. The only thing I am doing is attacking the FDA for not allowing people to purchase condoms from EU that fit correctly which then actually make sex safe.
Please can you stop shouting holy shit. We get this is important, but you really make this cause look like a tinfoil-hat conspiracy. Anyway, I think you should be able to get free condoms every once in a while.
I am not shouting, I am stressing the importance of the matter through using different forms of text editing. Also, as it says in the OP,
Condoms undergo rigorous quality control testing. The reasons for this are obvious. To do quality audits on a reasonable budget you need standardized equipment and a repeatable process for all condoms. The FDA just adopted the industry standards. So right now the FDA is not equipped to ensure the quality of 60 mm wide condoms. Obviously the size limit is a significant public health issue. One thing they really ought to do (and this goes for everything they regulate) is allow anything that has been approved by 2-3 reliable European consumer/health regulatory agencies. Europe allows a much larger range of condoms and ensures their quality. Any company approved in Europe should be allows to export their product to the states.
Yes you can get free condoms from the US Government, but they are NOT one size fits all.
Then I guess you'll be stuck with using less than optimal condoms for that period of time. If you're suggesting that being moderately more comfortable is more important than protecting both you and your partner against pregnancy and STD's, you have a very small world view.
have you ever had sex you know it's not just a mechanical process and that you shouldn't have to feel discomfort at any stage. also if you have a partner you trust and you both do the test and come back clean, the STD argument is moot you must have a small world view if you don't understand sex is about enjoying both yourself and your partner and it's absurd to have to put up with your dick being sore
I understand what you're getting at, but are you seriously suggesting that it's ok to have unprotected sex simply because condoms make you uncomfortable? Furthermore, and I'm in no way condoning unprotected sex, gay partners who are faithful and are sterile typically don't need condoms.
And it may not be expensive to shell out $48 dollars for a box of 60 to you, but I have friends who can't afford condoms because of how little their income is. These friends are young adults and teens, a.k.a., the age group who are hormonal sex crazed rabbits who rarely have a job, and if they do, it usually pays REALLY SHITTY. Yeah, lets make them wait over 2 weeks to buy their condoms and make them pay more for them... GREAT IDEA!
Edit since you added on to your post: This si where you realize that whining on the internet isn't going to fix anything. You have been dealt a sub-optimal hand in the matter and need to work with what you have instead of preaching to the choir on the internet. Can't afford the condoms right away? Think the shipping takes too long? Save up and plan ahead. Optimally, make sure you have a steady, clean partner who is on hormonal birth control. Other than student loans, I currently have no income while living in a much more expensive place than the US is. It's very possible to work and there are lots of productive ways to handle your situation. Going on the internet to complain about how your dick is so fat even the black president is punishing you for it is not one of them.
About half of those citizens have boobers and a vagoo.
Ok. Then 1.5945 million men have to deal with this issue. And again, 1% of men is just a LOW approximation.
Going on the internet to complain about how your dick is so fat even the black president is punishing you for it is not one of them.
Sir, you have by far just said the most eloquent post I have read on Facepunch in many moons.
Sir, you have by far just said the most eloquent post I have read on Facepunch in many moons.
Thank you, I am very passionate about schlongs.
Small condoms are also banned. Still about 5-10% of the population, but no one cares about them.
Why is my point being argued with if it completely makes sense?
Your point isn't being argued. Its being added onto... The FDA, by not allowing the purchase of EU condoms, makes it so men with larger dicks cannot buy condoms that allow for safe sex to take place without a higher risk of breakage or slippage. And then some men can't simply wear any of the condoms period. The point I am making is that why is this a thing if it can be fixed simply by allowing the sale of EU condoms?
Small condoms are also banned. Still about 5-10% of the population, but no one cares about them.
It's not that they aren't cared about. In my OP they are mentioned. It is just that it takes a back seat to big dick problems unfortunately. But that brings up a valid point. 1.5945 million men have dicks that are TOO BIG for condoms due to regulations. How many on top of that have the issue because of being TOO SMALL?
I am not shouting, I am stressing the importance of the matter through using different forms of text editing.
Writing the same thing in caps lock over and over again looks like shouting to me. I have emailed 3 of The Daily Show writers in an attempt for them to do a story on it. So studies done on year 2002 dicks are not going to be different from 2015 ones.
Yeah buy you quoted me something from the OP and I'm trying to find out why you did that? Because it didn't have anything to do with what you said? Also, that study from 2002: "Test-Retest Reliability of the Measurement of Penile Dimensions in a Sample of Gay Men" And from that study:
On entering the study, data were collected regarding age, ethnicity, circumcision, education, and employment, and each couple was issued with two sets of color-coded cardboard strips, and asked to measure their partner’s erect penis. Instructions were printed on the strips on how to take the measurements and the strips were also marked with a confidential anonymised code for participant identification. One strip measured 26×4.5 cm, and was printed with instructions to measure the partner’s erect penis length along the top of the penis from base to tip. The second strip measured 21 × 4 cm, and was printed with instructions to measure the girth of the erect penis on the shaft just below the glans.
And from the same study
Self-report methods of collecting data on the flaccid and erect dimensions of the penis are well established and often reported and quoted in the literature. However, the present study has shown the reliability of this measurement tool to be moderately low. This may be due to both natural variability within subjects over time and unreliability of the measurement method ... The body of evidence for erect penile dimensions based on self-report may now be questioned, and the practical implications of using this method should also be reviewed.
They had to measure their partner's penis and the study concludes that their results are questionable. I'm not saying that you're lying, i'm just saying that your sources aren't very reliable and that you have to stop being so intense about this.
Yeah buy you quoted me something from the OP and I'm trying to find out why you did that? Because it didn't have anything to do with what you said? Look at Fox News. And the thing is, even if that data is outdated or unreliable, there is still a significant number of people that can be assumed that are affected by this. And there is no reason for EU condoms not to be able to bought in the US. So even if there was only 10,000 people who are affected by this, why keep this rule in place?
The...uh, Daily Show? I think they'd have more interesting, actually relevant news, to parody. Messaging celebrities? C'mon dude. What is wrong with simply copy and pasting a few messages to celebrities? There are already numerous ones who post dumb "look this condom can fit on my leg so it can fit any guy" stuff. So why wouldn't one eventually do something with the correct, factual information.
"Hey guys i have a big dick this news is really informative for big dickers like me did i mention i have a big dick not making a huge deal out of it just informing the internet of my big dick"
"Hey guys i have a big dick this news is really informative for big dickers like me did i mention i have a big dick not making a huge deal out of it just informing the internet of my big dick"
Oh wow. Did you notice I never once mentioned the size of my dick and even put in big bold letters at the top of the page that no one cares about your dick size? This is a legitimate issue that carries health related risks, why shit post? I mean, you may just be driven to do so out of rage that your own penis is so small, but don't worry, this actually helps more than just people who have big dicks. Those who are also below the lowest width amount are helped by this being fixed. So now you'll be able to buy one that actually fits your tiny wang! :v:
Intensity by yelling gets people going. Look at Fox News.
Oh wait, you watch Fox News... ha.
And the thing is, even if that data is outdated or unreliable, there is still a significant number of people that can be assumed that are affected by this.
No, you can't just 'assume' these things. If there would be a huge problem with teen pregnancies, STD's or whatever yeah, then you can look at this sort of thing.
And there is no reason for EU condoms not to be able to bought in the US. So even if there was only 10,000 people who are affected by this, why keep this rule in place?
Well, maybe in the past too many people bought condoms that were too large? Anyway, I get what you're saying but don't give us these bullshit studies that prove shit.
"Hey guys i have a big dick this news is really informative for big dickers like me did i mention i have a big dick not making a huge deal out of it just informing the internet of my big dick"
That's the problem with this type of issue, the instant you try to talk about it outside of someplace like /r/BigDickProblems or some other equivalent it's nigh impossible not to sound like you're going "ooooh my dick is illegally massive and it's a biiiiiig problem! Someone please help me and my dick and also other people and their dicks! Please feel bad for our major wangs, they have issues too!" and just being a general drama queen with nothing but first world problems such as "my frappe was too cold today", "my dick is soooo very large", "my family butler forgot to plug in our second Tesla overnight so I had to give my sister a ride to school" and "I can't talk about my dick issues without sounding like a dick with issues". e:
Donate some dick tissue to me please.
I'll bestow upon you some glorious, oil money sponsored beschlongination.
