I really fucking hope not, I'd be chapped. I've barely experienced enough of life for it to all come burning down so soon
This x100. I think the Mayan's calender didn't end, they were just raided and couldn't go on making the calender. Though a lot of bad things have been happening recently; i.e. the protests and natural disasters. But the hype and publicity of 2012 might cause some people to actually do something like try to destroy leaders or something. I seen a tv show where they had the "don't have to pay till 2012" thing on all their stuff and its going to suck for them when they have to pay it all off in one year.
There are no certain "Mayan predictions". Mayan view of time perception included so called "in and out" points in which one era would end and one would begin. This is why I don't believe in apocalypse 2012. There is no certain way to prove when or why would the world end but yet so far there is no theory based on scientific facts when the world will end. I can imagine world ending when asteroid hits us but I don't believe in biblical apocalypse what so ever.
My calendar ends on December 2011. IT MUST BE A SIGN
Basically the reasoning behind the Mayan thing :v: (Or is that the joke...)
Saying there is no way world is going to end is kinda ignorant. Not only Mayan calendar predicts it, there are solar something and planet alignment. No one knows for sure, it may or may not end.

The Mayan Cander does not predict it either.
I sincerely doubt the world will "end" next year, in any way related to the Mayan Calendar bullshit. However, as it's been mentioned, we'll probably see a lot more conflict, rather than resolution, up until and beyond then. Just look at the state of the planet -Europe teetering on the brink of another recession, the American Debt crisis, the Arab uprisings, the Occupy protests, Iran's nuclear program and all the shit surrounding it; It might not be instant, it could take several more years to become really in-your-face apparent, but it seems as though things are going to get real bad for everybody, in one way or another. We'll just have to wait and see if anything major coincides with the "end of time". [editline]29th November 2011[/editline] And if the world does magically cease to exist at least there will be nobody to say "HA! WE WERE RIGHT ALL ALONG"
Hope for this...
Hope for this...
I'm having a fatal nostalgia attack
I remember that old documentary-ish video that went around a few years back, Zeitgeist* (possible spelling, I can't remember) It was really interesting and I suggest anyone to watch it, so long as they don't be stupid fucks and just take everything it says as true without assessing it themselves first. Anyways, it said a lot about how the end of the Mayan calender was supposed to be around the end of this "christian era" or something like that. I don't know, I'm not a religious man or a paranoid one. Thought it was worth bringing up.
Why does it matter? If it did end, we'd all be dead anyways.

No
I don't believe it but I will gladly exploit anyone who thinks otherwise.
