that's a very symmetrical number
That's not the real beta 5, it's just a nightly build.
I hate Minefield. Back to Beta 4 for me :D
Only noobs use firefox i use IE.
Pfft, used Minefield for a bit over a week now :v:
It automatically updates itself when a new beta is release :)
Does it? Cool.
I just got Minefield(I was using beta 4 before.) I don't actually see a difference between them. Probably some obscure bugs fixed.
Cool, though, that now it completes the Acid2 test. Firefox didn't before.
Edit:
Another change: it displays Gopher protocol sites differently.
Fuck Beta 7, I've got Beta 8.
Fuck all betas, how about full release!
I'm running beta 4, and it crashed when I clicked the download link
Edit:
There
Holy shit. For some reason the load speeds on beta 5 are like 200 times faster for me.
Any screenshots?
Any screenshots?
Give me a sec and I'll take some.

Looks like the Gran Paradiso logo with a fuse stuck on it
6 is way better than 7. Only posers use 7.
Because 7 ate 9!
Ahhh :( i'm running alpha 1! :zoid:
why is beta 9 afraid of beta 7?
Looks like the Gran Paradiso logo with a fuse stuck on it
Because it is :P
It's a beta of what will become Gran Paradiso.
Internal Omega 94, bitches.
OK, to make this clear:
The beta of Firefox is the beta RELEASE.
This means it is stable enough for testing.
However, Minefield is a nightly build.
This means, that every night, the browser is compiled and sent through auto-update.
This contains all the latest code.
So it will be pretty unstable most of the time.
Hope this cleared something up.
Really? Firefox hasn't changed, really. I just prefer it over Opera because it has all the add-ons, is open source (which makes it more secure by a factor of four bumbomillion), looks WAY nicer in my opinion, and has an easier interface. I tried Opera for a daty and couldn't stand it.
Ummm, wrong.

Opera has been known for being the safest and fastest internet browser for years.
I think it's an inside-joke dev name for the current build. As in, the amount of bugs to crush is like being in a mine field.
I get the joke, but I haven't seen any problems with it so far, and it's very stable for a beta build.
The only problems is tard plugin developers that aren't making compatible plugins for the beta.
Don't you bastards think you are better than me just because you have beta 8. I have a version of firefox you will never beat. I HAVE PROOF.

What's the visual difference? I can't really tell.

I had no idea... I'd heard Opera was faster, but I also always assumed that Firefox was more secure.
Still going to stick with Firefox too, though, because I also hate the GUI on Opera, and I wouldn't be able to use any of my extensions (which radically affect how I browse.)
Edit:
Oor, I just spent a bit more time on Opera. The GUI is still hideous, but it is faster by a factor of 10. Speed dial is useful too. Don't like the lack of spellcheck, though.
EDIT:
Also, what the fuck, whenever you click the middle mouse button your cursor goes to the middle of the screen... maybe I'll go back to Firefox after all.
I hear Beta 523 is going to be an entire operating system!
Edit:
RELEASED!
Yeah uh...I haven't tried any of the betas...can any of you beat that!

There is spell check, but you'll need to install Aspell first.

That doesn't happen in the latest 9.50 beta. The most stable beta I've used so far is this one:
http://www.opera.com/download/?ver=9.50b
The latest beta, which I am currently using, can be found here:
http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/
Version 9.50 contains a ton of new features. An example is Opera Link, a feature that synchronizes your bookmarks and Speed Dial with your Opera account, allowing you to access them on any computer or mobile phone.
I've got Opera.
Kidding :P
Anyway, isn't there a firefox 4 alpha?
I thought I saw a thread about it, and it confused the hell out of me, because I didn't even think 3 was out.
Oh, found it http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-central/
Fucking hell, they're starting early. :uhoh:
I have Beta 9000
I have Beta 9000
Please don't start that OVER 9000! shit
Could they possibly shit out betas any faster?
