Plugins man! Plugins are the best thing to hit browsers since porn. Speaking of which, get piclens and go to google images. It's life affirming.
Does anyone care what browser you use? I don't. Use whatever works for you.
Mmm... yes. Opera. :fap:
Firefox crashes on me frequently. But I'm using Firefox 3 Beta 5.
Well obviously, last stand, my friend, you are mistaken. Firefox only crashes if you have a small amount of RAM. (Although, flash runs like shit in it, most of the time.)
I rarely see Firefox crash on 2GB of memory. I much prefer FF > IE. Edit: even if Firefox crashed 20 times more than IE I would still use it.
Fuck you all, dillo is awesome. Really though, personal preference. Though I can't see how anybody would use IE. Posted from Camino, which is a firefox-like browser.
I've never crashed FireFox. I also am not bothered by the memory because I have two and a half gigs of ram.
I dislike IE because I need to go out of my way to fix every layout I make just because IE is a dick and can't follow the standards and instead they use bubblegum solutions and want to shove their own shit down everyone's throat. I mean, JavaScript in stylesheets? What the hell?
Why do people post threads about which browser is the best when they know that it will just start a flame war? They're the same fucking thing... internet browsers. >:O
Who would download a 3gb file through a web browser? unless if it's in parts. Firefox to me is much better than IE, IE is just so bleh
You could try a beta of Firefox 3. Edit:
I've only ever had Firefox crash on me. And it the only browser I know that manages to lose my bookmarks on an almost regular basis. I stopped using Opera when it added support for Torrents. I never did look into turning it off. It just boils down to Personal preference.
I think that's because FF likes to precache web pages, and don't forget the Sessionsaver. Just close down the browser for a couple minutes and start it fresh.
Every time I use IE, it crashes when I rush it, so it's hard for me to access Japanese sites.
For me, Firefox never crashes, it browses twice as fast as Internet Explorer, it Blocks Popups better than IE, and Maybe it's the 22inch Monitor I got a couple months ago, But there seems to be a lot more room to show webpages
IE downloader is a part of the browser and DOES crash with it. What are you talking about?
Yeah, it uses a lot of memory. But it's also fast, stable(for me), and when combined with Noscript is the safest browser I know of. That, and its addons are nice. If Firefox memory usage is a problem, play with the settings by typing about:config into your address bar.
Maybe it's because I'm using Firefox 3 Beta 5, but the difference in mem usage decreases fast once you start tabbed browsing. Also, Firefox loads pages so much faster than IE7. Edit: Wassuuup, 1680x1050.
... the reason why you may find that Firefox crashes more often is because it takes almost double the memory as IE. So when you're downloading a 3GB file and you get to 91% and then it crashes, what do you do? ...
The amount of memory a browser uses is related to how many resources it's using, not how likely it is to crash. Anyway, if you don't like Firefox, use Opera, if you don't like Opera use Safari, if you don't like any of them then you're stuck with IE.
As far as I know, Firefox has only ever crashed ONCE throughout the 2+ years I have used it.
I'm sorry, but this is too adorable to say no to. I like Firefox. I used to use Internet Explorer, but the customization options of Firefox just won me over.
I envy that cat. Anyway I use FireFox now since IE is far too slow, especially on Steam when it fails to load a page.
On my system, but it runs pretty much everything. On Firefox I have Ad-BlockPlus/Download Statusbar/Video Download Helper/Fasterfox/IE Tab/Mouse Gestures/Tabscope
I don't have a problem with FF. The only site that managed to crash ff is ytmnd.
Nothing beats Opera.
Use opeara, is about 100% better. and it has a larager share on the PC then Safari btw
And I had about 10 tabs open... The memory usage is not that bad.
I think this video is needed to show the advantages of firefox:
I use Safari :). I ditched Ie, then ditched FF. I like the minimal theme of Safari. whatever works for you is fine. Edit:
I think this video is needed to show the advantages of firefox:
hahaha I love that
Firefox works fine for the, the newest beta version is excellent.
Firefox barely crashes on me. Internet Explorer however, crashes a lot for me. I think it's angry at me for downloading Firefox...
