I've tried opera, it was alright, but it was a huge system resource hog.
Wow, you can't be serious.

For whatever reason, when it started up, it would start up using 20k more memory than FF.

I'm sitting on 35,000K right now... Compare that to the 60,000 - 120,000 I get with FF.

Last time I checked, Opera sat at about 100k, FF at about 80k.
Same amount of tabs and such.

The FireFox team is working to get as many people as possible together to download Firefox within 24 hours of its release. They hope to break the Guinness world record for most software downloads in 24 hours.
Seems like a lot of people here at FP have Firefox so I thought you might like to hear this. I searched and looked for a FF custom forum, if i broke a rule I'm sorry.

Sign up in the above link and they should e-mail you when they release Firefox 3
[/copypaste from old thread]
I just got emailed with them announcing the date.
So basically they're going to try and break a world record previously set by... no one. There is no record. They're going to make a new record in a new category. Joy! So technically there's no record to "break" thus Mozilla "breaking" the record no matter what.
So sign up and remember to download firefox on June 17th.

I do know that. But If I made a program that made that new world record, I wouldn't be so happy.
Unless the prize is something along the lies of money.
Is that the prize? :ninja:
They will care when the bugs will start destroying Their PC's
Yea but there will still be some that don't.
Huh, maybe I should download something and proclaim it a world record!
Alright so within the past 2 days, Opera got an update (9.5) and Mozilla sent out an e-mail announcing Download Day (June 17th).
While Opera may not be Firefox's main competitor (I think Internet Explorer is, sadly) it's still pretty big. I'm pretty sure there's been a thread like this before, but now that both browsers are/have been updated, I was wondering what you guys thought of them.

You can download the latest Release Candidate (RC) for Firefox 3, which is pretty darn stable.
For those of you still using IE7 or IE8 BETA, I strongly suggest you try out either Opera or Firefox 3 RC1.
I'll PM a mod and see if I can get a poll up here.

Firefox
I think I'm gonna stick with Firefox 2 for a bit, because when I tried 3 it raped all my bookmarks and I had to delete everything to get it to work again.
