Eh, I feel that gradient on the letters kinda "cheapens" it to me, but I dropped out of graphic design so don't trust me :v:
Those harsh white to black gradients will basically never have a use... so don't use them.
The drop shadow type thing you made more subtle which is good, but I think you could pull that back even more.
Also I don't really get the idea behind those squares. Maybe if I knew what this was actually for.
The Squares brought in was my attempt at spacing out the logo, or at least something to bring a bit more-for a lack of a better word- detail into the logo . Thankfully, I didn't submit the one with the gradient as my final product.

So I'm starting to work on my own concepts and I'm going to do a bunch of environment concepts for my portfolio. Not sure yet if I want to go with watercolor or digital, but I'll see how it goes. I'm really inspired by the watercolor concept art from Hayao Miyazaki's movies. Look up some they're so inspiring and amazing and I want to die when I look at it for long enough. And then I watercolored it and colored more in photoshop quickly to sketch the colors. The dark shapes are gonna be bushes and stuff on the bottom, not tree roots.

Concept is great, colours are great, the almost heart-shaped frame out of the grass and trees could stand to go, makes it looks a bit postcardy rather than an environment concept
I'm thinking it could help to visualise the places in your head first thoroughly, and then think how a photographer would treat that space? If I had taken the above as a photo I would crop all of the darker areas around the outside, for example

Not being creative in this thread is ok, as long as you put effort into your work. In this case, you have achieved neither of that.

the things that make me cringe with this is the line weight on the crystals near the right shoulder, i messed that up
the other thing is how awfully out of place the right eyehole is, god I can't believe I missed that
