I was incredibly bored so I invented a conlang for my space lizards and translated the first page of my comic into it. It was a huge waste of time but it was kind of fun

I like how Freedom Tower is still standing in 2211. That's sweet.
what are the apostrophes for
They represent a voiced pharyngeal fricative
Here is a video of an attractive woman explaining how to say it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0ro6b50-Lk
Just a nitpick: the eyelash of the space lizard changes. Why is a minuscule detail like that important? Because it defines the gender in the panels. Last panel it looks more female, but the one above it looks more male, because of that eyelash.
Hmm well spotted, I will try to be more consistent about that in the future.
That is totally awesome, TH89. I so want to see more of that comic.

I love gas-masks, they're badass.
I've never done anything like this before so feedback is welcome.

I like this, but it feels off balance. If you can't see it flip the canvas.
how to flip
I got a drawing pad for Christmas, so I'll be drawing a lot more and probably post some in this thread. I'm not very good but I want to improve, so here's a Get Out Frog pic for anybody to use:

Can I get some criticism/advice on improving?

No. I didn't ask for a snarky reply, I asked for help.
I took your advice and did some more anatomy practice. Here's a lady pulling a cutting board out of a wall or something. Ignore the head, that was a quick thing

She has really short legs
every beginner to anatomy draws short legs

I'm pretty new to digital art, advice would be great.
for the shading of the ship, i use a separate layer to colour in the varying intensities of black for shading, then fill in a unshaded colour beneath, i like the way the technique works, but the biggest shooting-self-in-foot thing would be scanning: i draw in fineliners then scan in mono using standard windows software, then use the fill tool on the lines as a last step for anti-aliasing, it doesn't work as well as i'd like it to. and it scans noisy most of the time.

any advice welcome.

Hate to make the thread sound like a broken record, but one thing the frog could have benefited from is if you'd looked at some anatomy diagrams--as it stands it's got a lot of muscle lines drawn on but they don't really correspond to the muscles people actually have.
One thing I'd advise (I'm doing it myself right now) is to go here: http://www.quickposes.com/ and do their challenges. One a day is a good start, it's twenty 60-second figure drawings in a row, so just 20 minutes of drawing a day. If you keep at it even on the days you don't feel like doing it, you'll probably start seeing improvement really quickly. I've only been at it about a week and a half and I've already learned a ton of new things about human anatomy that're helping me draw faster and more accurately.

This is cool! I like your attention to detail. The perspective is also mostly really good (although the tent looking thing on the left looks way out of perspective, whether that's intentional or not I'm not sure but it really stands out to me).
It also looks like pretty much everything in the drawing is using those same two points of perspective--all the buildings, stuff on the ground, even the guy standing there is all at right angles. If you added some more vanishing points and had stuff a little more askew, it'd make the drawing a lot more lively and get rid of that constructed-perspective look. It looks like you already have an aptitude for drawing mechanical stuff in perspective so it shouldn't be too much trouble, just keep pushing your comfort zone. :)
As for the messy linework, I don't have much advice except maybe try and increase your scan resolution? You might also try scanning in grayscale and then using levels to get the linework back while retaining the smooth edges.

Remember, it's easy to forget and think the torso is the "main part" of the body, but the legs alone are actually about 50% of the total body height.
Also, when you do the torso, try to think about where the ribcage is, where the hips are, and how the two connect with each other. Do some of those Quickposes challenges I linked earlier, it'll help!

The rendering is cool and I like the colors and texture, but the underlying shapes are kinda sloppy and lopsided, especially the goggles. I think making sure you have a really solid drawing before you start painting could help a lot.
omg i gotta post this here. I was going through my friend's old pictures and I found the perfect one and couldn't resist editing it.

It's hard to say much, you've pretty much done a silhouette but with colour blocks
Maybe show us a sketch in line? Ty something with a pencil?
I dunno what to say, my whole goal was just to try and make something similar to my reference picture, and then play around with it and see what I get :v:
Then try the same thing with a pencil, show us the result!
I sketched my first artworks with my new tablet (albeit the drawings are looking quite unfinished)

(i would've cropped out the unfinished parts, but then the drawing would've looked odd)

I referenced them from other artworks (because they were inspiring)
CC and feedback is appreciated!
