Both were around an hour each I think, and thanks.
I sketched my first artworks with my new tablet (albeit the drawings are looking quite unfinished) (i would've cropped out the unfinished parts, but then the drawing would've looked odd) I referenced them from other artworks (because they were inspiring) CC and feedback is appreciated! ps: apologies for the big ass images, but i forgot how imgthumbs worked :\
We went so long without anyone attempting to use the word albeit in CC :/

I think you should start working on environment concepts and practicing composition. You're great at rendering out a single character or a small individual scene, but I haven't seen anything more from you.
[t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8702336/AI_Drawings/2012/236.png[/t]
The lack of curvature in the torso and rigid angle between the torso and his left leg makes the position look kinda awkward and immobile. I should really get on that myself as well.
you should neglect your style and just study foundations and anatomy a la naturale.
you should neglect your style and just study foundations and anatomy a la naturale.
been tryin to do that, style just kinda creeps into it without me really intending it to and last time i got told to try and tell stories so i was tryin to do that I got so much stuff to practice at once i just kinda go with whatever people tell me to do so uhh lesse, Gesture drawing, Environments and composition, and Foundations, which that word kinda encompasses a lotta stuff so i assume you mean light, form, anatomy, rhythm, composition, and some other stuff i kinda forgot. I appreciate the help guys

that turkey pose of one of the zombies is pretty funny too
went over old piece o' mine [editline].[/editline] there are a lot of problems with it, but I'm fine with it for now. Mainly just wanted to see how well I could go from the old monochromatic one to colored (he's a bit orange, but oh well). [editline]v[/editline] old one: http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/066/a/1/tr_by_theloneredsheep-d4s2vio.png
Colors are way too saturated and contrasted. The old one looked much better in b/w Do some color studies to help you learn color theory better.
He does look a bit too spray-tanned, but it has improved in a lot of other areas.

Hey, I've been lurking Facepunch and I'm actually interested in making some posts in this thread, but I'm afraid of posting anything on the internet and having it stolen. Is there a way I could protect my work so I can have it critiqued in this thread?

If it's on the internet people can grab it, that's the reality of the situation. If you try to stop people from downloading your stuff then they will just try harder for the heck of it. You always have copyright on your own work as well, as long as it's all made by you, so what's the big deal? There are millions of artists out there producing tons of content every second and there are thousands different sites they post them on, dedicated to art. What makes you think someone wants YOUR art posted on THIS SPECIFIC site?

Personally I think of stealing as a form of flattery. What you made was so good someone else wanted to say they made it. They want to own it and call it their own thing. If you can pull that off, then congratulations, you've done something really good. And you've got to be really full of yourself to think that someone would go to the extent of stealing what you make unless you're already a well established artist who lives off of making art.
I actually have a classmate who designed a shirt for class and recently found an online shirt seller selling his design on a sweatshirt so
Then that sucks, he can try to get it taken down, but at the end of the day he can make a hundred more designs and sell them, and the other guy has to find more people to steal stuff from. And even though people can and do get away with theft, it's not a sustainable business model. Chances are, if someone steals something from you, five years down the line they'll probably be working a dead end job somewhere, while you'll have the benefit of five years' worth of practice and artistic improvement, and that much closer to making a living at it. Plus, in general, people stealing your stuff isn't going to hurt your ability to make a living at what you're doing. The only thing it really hurts is your sense of karmic justice, and like I said you can treat that by remembering the person's probably a huge loser.
dgg is right no one cares To be frank judging by your mindset your stuff probably isn't worth stealing at all anyway
Hey, I'm his cousin and I think you guys are getting him the wrong way. I actually recommended he come to this thread because I figured you guys could do an awesome job critiquing him, and when we wrote that post we weren't trying to insinuate you guys would steal it or anything. I guess the way we worded that earlier came off the wrong way. Honestly, it was an interest as to how you guys approach that problem.
I don't think anyone would assume he thought the regulars here would rip off something of his. We're just saying it's a silly frame of mind and even in the worst case scenario you should be able to say fuck it. Copyright is automatic, if you do something original nobody can by rights use it. You don't have to patent it or put a symbol on it or anything like that. If someone makes petty cash by stealing something of yours, you can give them a C&D (or inform their webhost etc) and put a stop to it. That's if you find out - what you don't know won't hurt you. If someone makes major profits via something of yours without permission, you can seek damages for that. Even before any of this the likelihood of something being nicked is so small that the chances of you ending up screwed over because you posted your art online are near zero.
Finally drawing again after a month. Wish I realised how low res it was sooner.
I understand that most pieces are supposed to be openly interpretable but I think you're being too vague with your drawing.
Looks like a man in a hooded cape going into a cave or chasm of some sort, in a foggy forest if you ask me.
Yeah that's what it is, I wanted to make dark/dreamy environment. The whole thing started as a happy accident as the guy was originally a rock :v: but I agree I should have done more with the pillars and made the figure more readable.

The patterns are hard as fuck to draw and it doesn't help that my camera's pretty shit. I'm trying to get as close as possible when I draw this particular statue
