I really wanna post my video but I'm afraid that facepunch's "We swear we won't stalk you, track you down and rape and/or send you pizzas" guarantee isn't as strong as I'd like...

how is the guarantee not as strong as you'd like while no one has ever been tracked down and raped in the eight years that this forum has existed

Okay, fine, just Mormons.
Guys I'm having major art block (haven't been able to draw anything significant for like 3 days), can somebody give me an idea for something interesting to draw?
Also preferably something that I wouldn't be able to draw well easily. Yknow, nothing simple and shiny.

The Chronicle of Amstamal
In the beginning of this land, there was nothing but a light that was absolutely everywhere and at the same time nowhere.
This light was the foundation for the land of Amstamal, as it was the only thing that could let anything in or out.
In the end of our homeworld, Earth; we discovered a new world. And of which we settled and soon was bustling with people. But on this planet there was a rift, and it was sucking in everything. That rift was the light that was equally nowhere and there.
Was buzzed on weed.
I guess the stereotype that weed results in inspired creative output doesn't always hold true
Well fuck you too, no good criticism from you fucks then.

It's repetitive, it's meaningless, it's got no formatting, paragraphing is a complete failure, you've made laughable use of the term "chronicle", you've misused a semicolon, you've begun a sentence with a conjunction, every single comma is used incorrectly, "there" is a very clumsy antonym of "nowhere", the first line indicates that it's supposed to be expository but then it ends (?) after a few more sentences and you've told the reader as close to nothing as you could possibly manage. Not only is it complete shit, it's shit postfaced with "I was buzzed on weed" that can't have taken more than a minute to do and so really doesn't even belong here. It is to this thread what scribbling your name on the toilet wall in crayon is to an art gallery. This combined with your other snippets that you've posted in here in the past comprise the biggest insult to fantasy literature I've ever come across, and you ought to give up, forever.
Sincerely,
Mako

Great colours. Seems to work better in the thumbnail than full size, I guess because of the lack of detail. Your style is gonna be gorgeous when developed more

I disagree.
I like the picture, it reminds me of the map 'Sidewinder' in Halo 1. But it lacks detail, definition and I think your values are too grayed.
Also, as a piece of personal opinion I'd say it's too uncontrasted, but I'm the type of guy who likes a full range.
Either way, I'd suggest getting some hint of color in there along with more details.
I get that it's supposed to be a grayish atmosphere, but nothing gray in real life is actually gray. Its all colored, and you can enhance the feeling of desolute grayness with some slight murky colors, ironic as that sounds. If that's snow and garbage (since it's titled toxic_garbage_island), may I suggest a frosty blueish rustic brown, along with blue?

not helping your case actin like a crybaby and doin callouts dropping the word faggot on people
write more good
once there was a chill ass fantasy world with baller creatures it was p cool. the peeps in this world fought the creatures bcuz monsters are fuckin cool to fight, no doubt. now feel this real shit the thing they realized when it was 2 fuckin late to do shit was that the baller creatures were protectin them from a deep force from inside da earth.
this is written better and more coherent than your bad couple line thing. chronicles are sposed to be long btw dont use a word if it doesnt fit at all it just looks dumb

I disagree with your disagreement, I find his subdued top-end values very pleasing to the eye
I will admit that I meant the landscape itself, and I'm not crazy about how dull and clumsily brushed the sky looks. It may lack detail, I said so myself, but it reads very well from a distance.
And most "real life" colours are actually shades of grey. If you study various skin tones it's especially noticeable.
Have a look at this: http://freeaussiestock.com/free/Northern_Territory/alice_springs/alice_springs_landscape.jpg
I've colour picked from every bit of this picture, other than the sky and the tree trunks which are obviously grey. Result:

I also added a true mid grey on the left for comparison, which looks at home among the rest of the samples.

There are notes of more saturated colour as well of course but you get my point.

Whether or not a full grayscale is pleasing to the eye will have to be a matter of opinion. I for one think it's dull, but that's the artists decision, and he'll have to decide that judging by his own opinion and taste.
But I disagree that the gray fits with those. The only one it would fit with, if you ask me, is the one on the top. I ain't saying go full rainbow. I'm just saying have some very subtle colors (see the ones you posted, maybe even more subtle) because the unnoticeable difference that makes is important to the illusion as a whole. Gray just feels so unnatural considering how light works, and in paintings I notice it pretty much right away.
