Drawing something accurately with clean ink outlines is tough tough tough try something in pencil, I can pretty much guarantee it'll improve your forms [editline]16th January 2013[/editline] @iliketokill

His name is Charles... He's special. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Creating robot concepts for a 3D class I'm taking. It helps with painting a bunch though as I'll be using the concept myself to model from. So any ambiguous form will make me suffer when I start modelling :v:
Continuing on the subject of robots, here is something i recently made with watercolor and a ball-point pen! I thought of how horrible a cuckoo clock must be from a robots point of view, its basically a chest-burster!
Finished this drawing and scanned it. I don't like my scanner, and it doesn't fit 11x14 paper :\

I was gonna say you should try out square brushes but looking closer they do look pretty square. The body looks soft and rubbery though as opposed to hard surface.

His nostrils seem a bit off and I'm not sure what all the twisties around his neck are, but overall it's a good 'un.

I really like it - considering throwing together a background to add to my rotation. Though this is entirely aesthetic, I think it might look better with the nostrils slitted (or as pinholes) rather than gaping, as it seems more fitting (in my opinion) with the apparent biology of the creature. If you do like the open nostril design, I recommend maybe adding a little bit of subtle greens, grays, and reds inside the lower rim of nostrils to give the illusion of a slight proliferation and reflection of light in the open, damp space.
What is the most common/effective way to remove the guidelines when you have finished shading?

Kneadable eraser!
Kneadable eraser!
I've bought one. It says on the label that it's kneadable, but it's not. Like this: I squeeze/press it, if I release, it will return to its previous/normal form. "KNEADABLE Artists Eraser ST 806K" And it was kinda sticky when it was new.
Hrm, well the cheap ones I've had tend to get sticky in the heat here (sydney) so that's not that odd, also out of the packet. But a real kneadable eraser should be similar to blue tac in consistency, so I think you got taken for a fool :v: You'll know when you get a real one, they lift graphite extremely well. You can erase lighter strokes over and over again and your page will still be more or less perfect.
Is there any chance that there is also another type of kneadable eraser, but for charcoals instead of pencils? If not, well.. Fuck that old hag.
Hey guys, I need a hand I need to photoshop an emote like "):" onto the top of these pills, to make it look like they've had the image pressed into them [t]http://www.filedump.net/dumped/tst1358445531.jpg[/t] trying to get them as near to this sort of thing as possible: anyone have any idea how to do such a thing?
Draw a smiley, warp it onto there, use some blending option effects, call it done. Thats the simple sloppy way to do it.
Well if possible i'd rather not go for the sloppy way
that's....actually a very nice pencil drawing.
It's charcoal, but thank you.

Transforming it to follow the perspective and using bevel and emboss layer effect. Unless you want to hand-paint it in which requires skill and lots of effort. [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3655193/Ext%40cy.jpg[/t] Only way to make it look realistic is by sitting there tweaking it for all eternity, getting the perspective right, the light source, the choice of colour and such.
