I think you draw people funny. I feel like they're legs should be longer or something, I'm not really sure. Maybe practice people more, cause you seem to be really good at environments now.

I wasn't making an effort at all with the people; it was more hinting at people rather than describing them clearly. I agree that I need to take my time if I'm going to do them properly though! I try to do full-body studies when I have the time. I want to make it a daily thing.

All I used was a chalky brush with a couple of custom settings. I save all my brushes as Tool Presets because I find it easier to find a specific brush (you can name them instead of just relying on the often misleading and hard-to-differentiate thumbnail).

First page I was hopping around google images results, for at least half of the second page I was scrolling through a fashion blog with a lot of front-on shots. There's a couple of unreferenced ones on the second page too.

Not a fan of mixing photomanipulation and painting and big auto-shape brushes or whatever you would call them
Like it's really obvious that you splattered bullshit all over the mountain in the photo and shoved in your own crummy foreground with leaf brushes
I'm highly questioning whether you had anything to do with that building or if you just grabbed it from somewhere else and plopped it on the photo as well

I like it, it has a very nice style to it, though I do see what you mean with the trees in the foreground.

Well i'm kinda new to matte/speed painting so thank you for the feedback.
The "bullshit" i splattered over the mountain resembles snow and I know it's not the best snow you've seen but atleast I tried. Same with the bushes infront. It's far from done and the only thing thats actually kinda done is the building.
I'd love to see what you can do since you give alot of critic in a rude way.

I disagree for the most part since you can use shaped brushes correctly as well as manipulate photos to match.
However I don't think it's done well here because on both the mountain texture and forest-y areas, it's extremely flat. Especially on the mountain, there's just no implication of any depth.

that wasn't rude and your picture just looks bad. he can do better stuff than you but that doesn't matter because a movie critic shouldn't be a movie director in order to criticize a movie.

But if you did paint that building Goldenvale I don't understand why it looks awesome and highly finished when everything else is honest to goodness really crappy. You say you tried with the snow and tried with the leaf brushes, but there's SUCH a deficiency between those things and the building that I'm naturally assuming you got the building from somewhere else and stuck it in there. If you can prove otherwise then I apologise.
So with that assumption in mind, all you've done is taken a photograph and collaged the buildings awkwardly in, dragged some textured brush across the mountain to disguise how badly the distances match up between it and the buildings, and blocked over the trees in the foreground with more shape brushes. Sorry but it's a shoddy piece of work, and seeing it get a stack of artistics, it needed calling out.
