Anybody having problems with faber castell color pencils? they literally devour in my hands.
Yellow one instantly broke when I tried drawing.I went on to sharpen it and it kept on breaking while I was sharping it until I finally got it to work.
Same with sharping all the others.

If experience tells me anything, Faber-Castell colouring pencils are really soft.

I'm not very knowledgeable with artistic terms or anything but I really like how my eye really flows around this picture, kind of from the point of the ship to the house down the cliff then smoothly up the mountains to the ship again, although not necessarily starting at the ship. I really like it.

And I love the lighting on the ship from the sun, but the more I think about the way the light casts on the sip the more I feel that from the way the mountain on the right builds up that the direct lighting on the house is off, but I'm just nit-picking because I'm making assumptions about things you haven't shown in the image.

Thanks! I dont' put a lot of thought into my compositions beyond 'is it clear' so it's nice to have a fresh perspective on the flow

Are you using their watercolour pencils on accident?
I'm pretty sure their watercolours are super soft
If chunks of lead are breaking off while sharpening (as though they've been 'cut' into chunks inside the pencil) then it's probably due to being banged around or tapped on a table like drum sticks; this fractures the led inside the pencil and means when you try to sharpen it the led will just fall off

Helmet needs to be larger, it would be the correct size if it was just the actual head, but currently the helmet would be stuck to the guys skull. Remember that your hands full spread cover your face, look at his hands compared to the "face" of the helmet, and that is considering them in fists.

I'm tempted to; I find that black and whities often have a much different tone to them than coloured images; and I guess with the 1940s-style farmhouse, black and white sort of fits

Well I've had no luck finding something that can create such an effect so cleanly but I did find a script for Illustrator that does alright a creating a similar effect. However, you have to place the points yourself and it comes out more abstract.

I figured that actually pencils were dropped down a few times in the shop(I was stupid enough to take the first pack on the shelf). Nice 10$ wasted.

some of your paintings are a bit weird in the styles and themes they mix. like really flat unatmospheric lighting with very contemporary, maybe even old-fashioned architecture, and then a random sci-fi element slapped on. it's odd
ai i've said this before but maybe you should try illustrating a scene with some kind of story because it's very obvious now you're more than competent at drawing and rendering humans from imagination
