Idk how you guys do digital drawing like that.
Ive got an old Wacom Bamboo thingy and I cant draw shit with it.
i couldnt either and i got so frustrated that i couldn't draw shit on it you wouldn't believe. someone on this thread showed me this site: http://www.ctrlpaint.com/ and that's where i got all the motivation i ever needed to start practicing digital painting.
i know this has been asked probably a thousand times but whats a good brush set that yall use. preferably that one that give kinda that blocky feel?
EDIT: btw anyone know good head tutorials? all i seem to be drawing is "heads"

not to fond of digital stuff even though ive had a tablet for years
Maybe start off with some monochrome studies - or even just linework studies. You're trying to tackle like a hundred new things with that piece, narrow down the challenge a little bit. Easier to get comfortable with one aspect so you have some solid grounding to build on.

Sorry this doesn't answer your questions but @ that drawing, try some flow lines!
Something like

If you do enough of these for you to start automatically identifying simple shapes and curves in the body it'll benefit your drawings of people a lot
Started something, par, gonna do a study instead

I've been doing all my painting on my own, I watched some of these last night and I can tell my quality of life is about to improve tons.
thanks a ton for posting that site
Yeah thanks. But when I was doing those I wasnt going for anythi by other than the purpose of trying to get used to my tavlet/digital drawing
hello i haven't posted here in a long while
decided to exercise myself today by painting the ideas of a child's drawing

photo studies are the most awesome thing. i know i should've stopped as soon as i nailed the shapes and colors but i just wanna go and finish this one.
Two things I'm working on:
I said it on the prior page, but it might have gotten lost in the posts.
mud looks fucking badass.
I just wanted to chime in with one last comment on the argument about pen pressure vs opacity settings.
A majority of you are looking at it in terms that are too black and white. There is no time where you should only use one and never the other. Different styles rely more heavily on one or the other, however.
Just like you wouldn't use acrylic to achieve a watercolor effect, neither should you use one setting when you want the effect of the other.
i use 50% minimum on pen pressure most of the time because it helps me keep the pace up and improves my work flow. it stops me worrying about blending and puts more energy into my paintings
imo a thing where you press down harder for more opacity/lighter colour would be pretty cool, as you could keep near ~100% blending/transfer/opacity/w'e nearly all the time but still have a big dynamic range to play with if you wanted
updated my post with the third hour.

You're clear.
i'm calling this done but i don't think it likes it because aliens don't have names. also i'm thumbing it because i don't wanna spam the thread.

special thanks 2 chesty. he gave me a pack of brushes he uses and they did come in handy (i had to do all the tiny light bounces on his head by hand before lol)
