breaking news: girl falls into campfire
Concept art for a game I'm working on at school.

My eyes..
Some parts are extra crisp, and some are like mud..
It feels like you cut some parts from a bunch of photos, arranged them to get the shape/depth, painted over it.
And it also looks like 3d.
I'm so confused right now.
don't know whether i ever posted this. started out as an anatomy study but turned into day#16 of that "30 day painting challenge" (only i decided that i couldn't actually keep up the challenge consecutively because of uni work n stuff)

i kinda agree that some of the transitions are jarring but it doesn't really matter for conceptual work. it gets the point across and reads just fine. with a bit of artistic license and/or some more detailed shots of a building or two, anyone could model that scene in 3D and/or make it in-engine or whatever based off that

Right on all counts. I started with a 3d render of the environment I modeled, did a low res color comp to decide on the palette, scaled it up and painted in details and new ideas, and spliced in some overlayed photos to get some little grungy bits.

I really like the values here. It really pops out of the screen. But the area between ears seems a bit flat.
Since I figured out webm stuff I guess I can post this animation I finished about a month ago but haven't posted anywhere. It still needs audio but it should be coherent anyway

Wow, I've really improved since then

While cool, also physically impossible unless it's a magic lava wolf, since being that close to active lava would allegedly be hot enough to kill you.
But aww puppee <3

Well the glowing eyes are hopefully a hint.
Recent attempt at digital animation. Gah I'm going back to paper and pencil.

Digital watercolor?
No lol. I tried to brush up the background a bit tho cause the colors didn't stand out on the scanner.
Ah, I was a little confused because I saw translucent white painted over color.
Yeah I messed up and had to use white watercolor and acrylic for the strings. Watercolor is really fun to use, you should keep going with working with it, the portrait is pretty nice. I would work more on contrast though.
that last double drawing is thurnis! i would know him anywhere
