I've been working on a game and I sprited the main character. This is my first time spriting anything. Anything I can improve on?
Looks great for a first sprite dude The shadow should be a subtle shade of something depending on the ambient light sources rather than just grey Thanks Maloof for that tip, whoever you are
Does anybody have a good line-drawing video or explanation that talks about line weight? I understand using a heavy outline to imply shadow and a thin outline to imply a highlighted edge, but beyond that it's all a mystery to me
Guys, it's time.
This has a lot of life and movement and the colour is great, but I'm slightly confused as to what is happening in the background?
dunno exactly, just went random trying to imitate smoke and other things in my ref
Ahhh, don't quote autoplaying sound! It's playing over it's self now.

But yeah I have no clue if that will help or not... just a suggestion.
pokemans
I love your colours. They always look so cool. Also, guys, thanks for some feedback I've got from your argue, but c'mon. Artistics, agrees, disagrees and all that stuff...guys, that's just an images under the words which are really matter. And concerning criticues, actually, I kinda grateful for any feedback I get, and I think it's just a matter of a will and time of how you do them. Personally in 99 of 100 times I'm too lazy to comment any work at all, even if I have something to say. So some can just point to your mistakes and some can post giant critiques, but both are useful anyways, because they did it at least.
This is going to sound totally wrong and weird but broken English makes literally almost anything adorable.
shhshh lines are all the same until one has some extra weight I am so sorry guys
This is going to sound totally wrong and weird but broken English makes literally almost anything adorable.
Well, yeah, I'm mostly counting on the charm of my illiteracy when I write something.
Ctrl+paint is cool as shit but come on don't embed vimeo
Four pages of anatomy studies later, I tried adding a bit more depth to the face (you can see what I meant earlier, my dark values look very blotchy :( ) and started tinkering with some other parts, also wanted to demonstrate that I seriously have no fucking clue what I'm doing with hair, but I'll admit it seems much more whole even with it only as some weird blob of dark color.
pokemans
the dude really is very good but the ugly-ass fire effect near its legs really takes away from the piece, if the fire was sharper and clearer (instead of weird smudged colours and that silhouette) and probably less ''blobby'' and smudging it would look a lot nicer
Sanic sez: Go fast [editline]18th February 2013[/editline]
the dude really is very good but the ugly-ass fire effect near its legs really takes away from the piece, if the fire was sharper and clearer (instead of weird smudged colours and that silhouette) and probably less ''blobby'' and smudging it would look a lot nicer
I personally think that the fire makes the picture.
Personally I like it as a fog or smog of some sort, but I honestly didn't even think it was fire since it's so softly defined.
Capitalism. We go to school, we go to work, our lives fall apart. We struggle to hold it together, but we're doomed from the start. We call what we have freedom but we're prisoners through time. Striving to make our ends meet With our families on the decline. Bound by a thing called money; a creation of the mind - a thing born out of necessity but which enables us to crime. Making our ends tighter with the threads of another's knot We attempt to slow our headlong sprint to the grave to we well secured trot. Either going to be longer or retooled for wording and impact.
Personally I like it as a fog or smog of some sort, but I honestly didn't even think it was fire since it's so softly defined.
Yeah I hadn't intended for it to be fire, just sort of a fog/energy shroud for the sake of trying out some new techniques [editline]18th February 2013[/editline] also, in regards to palettes, this is a pretty great technique to get started
