Hold on a sec...limewire is a p2p program...surely that doesn't stop people downloading still....they just need to find another way of getting the program. Or use ares.... Oh well, not my problem either way

Hmm, I disagree with the OP this time round, it was useful for downloading pirate's of songs and sometimes games without opening the browser and searching. The virus part is why I've never used it.
Anything that can access the gnutella network will do the job.
Next coming : uTorrent, Vuze and all programs like that get removed!
Next coming : uTorrent, Vuze and all programs like that get removed!
thats actually the fear. While limewire was a sack of shit, it sets a president.
thats actually the fear. While limewire was a sack of shit, it sets a president.
Indeed. While Limewire is shit it still was 'innocent' client of bigger network that 'causes trouble'. If they will try harder methods to kill piracy then hell, who knows what they will do?
That sucks :/ I used Limewire. Oh well.
I still like how we all hailed Limewire as the greatest thing since sliced bread but the moment it goes down we all have something to say about it.
Are you stuck in 2003? The only people who are dumb enough to use Limewire are computer illiterate teenage girls. [editline]27th October 2010[/editline]
It's not wrong to steal a wallet from someone if it's hanging out of their pocket!
Yes it is. They don't have an infinite amount of identical wallets in their pocket.
Anything that can access the gnutella network will do the job.
Specifically Gnutella 1, Gnutella 2 doesn't have much going for it.
Oh wow, I forgot that it existed.

good riddance. I'm sick of going on my shared network at college and seeing "ALICE'S FROSTWIRE TUNES" and "MIKE'S LIMEWIRE TUNES". They are broadcasting their idiocy.
I used Limewire, if you wern't retarded you could pick out viruses. And all the songs were untagged, but I wasn't downloading whole albums on there - there isn't really any other place to download single songs. If there wasn't ANY properly named versions of the song, I would just download it and rename it. That said, it has fucked up my Music folder because of my family who thinks it's cool to just download whatever the fuck is on there. (public domain music not piracy do not ban plz i have kids to feed.)
Only douchebags use limewire.
hey hey hey, fuck you friend
Tons better than Limewire. Open Source and good community. I have been giving them free advertising my putting stickers all over the city i live in. Also double as a fairly decent torrent program as well. http://www.frostwire.com Also available for android phones!
Yes it is. They don't have an infinite amount of identical wallets in their pocket.
It was sarcasm.. also I gather you fail to understand basic economics?
Jesus christ. It's been dead for years.
Jesus christ. It's been dead for years.
No it hasn't. It's a haven for computer illiterate teenagers.

Someone prove me wrong though, theres bound to be a bunch of flaws with my logic.
I'm sorta happy it's shutdown but pissed off because it was for a fucking dumb reason, The Creator was sued for the users content. [editline]28th October 2010[/editline] Also Frostwire Lives on!
Well I hope you enjoyed their virus filled files, and those long drawn out file names.
I used to love Limewire, I kept it only out of nostalgia and because occasionally I could find some useful stuff that wasn't viruses on it. However I can't have it running on my computer in the dorms if I want to use their internet, so I uninstalled it. This case is bullshit though, Limewire never did anything wrong. They're just pissed that they can't go after the real problem, which is people not wanting to pay for shit.
Meh I like Utorrent, Stop using Limewire, hated all of the Song detail Fuckups But My mom Used it, Didn't tell her though. I also Said in My Class, Almost everyone was surprised, Me too, there all Pirates :v:
