I have really fond memories of the Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban for the gamecube/ps2. They did have terrible voice acting, though.
Like most games of that kind, especially back then :v:
i enjoyed books 1-4, but order of the phoenix was a piece of shit in my humble opinion. I think I read 6 and it was alright, didn't bother with the 7th.
admit it, you wanted your ass sent to hogwarts
Absolutely not. You do nothing there but memorize phrases and recipes for potions, without any real understanding of how it works and have almost no real world education or understanding of how the world around you works. They stop learning reading, writing, and basic arithmetic after like 10 and then just do magic. You are absolutely ignorant of everything other than the small cloistered world with a relatively tiny population.
If you used to think that way you were a damn smart kid.
I loved all the books, can't really pick a favourite. I remember reading the first four books as a kid, I just couldn't put them down.
I may be late, but wasn't the book called the SORCERER'S STONE... not Philosophers...?
Nope, it's the Philosophers stone.

Anyone else see alot of thing in the book that should of been in the Movie.
Anyone else see alot of thing in the book that should of been in the Movie.
That's how it always is.
I just read this and it was quite interesting:
In an interview, online chat,, and Wizard of the Month section of her website, Rowling gave additional information on the futures of the main characters that she chose not to include in the epilogue of the book. She stated that: * Harry becomes an Auror for the Ministry of Magic at age 17, and is later appointed head of the department in 2007. He keeps Sirius's motorcycle, which Arthur Weasley repaired for him, but he can no longer speak Parseltongue after Voldemort's soul fragment inside him was destroyed. * Ginny Weasley plays for the Holyhead Harpies Quidditch team for a time, leaves to establish a family with Harry and later becomes the lead Quidditch correspondent for the Daily Prophet. * Ron Weasley works at George's store, Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, then joins Harry as an Auror. * Hermione finds her parents in Australia and removes the memory modification charm she put on them. She initially works for the Ministry of Magic in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, greatly improving life for house elves and their ilk. She later moves to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and assists in eradicating oppressive, pro-pureblood laws. Rowling also explained the fates of several secondary characters: * George Weasley continues his successful joke shop and names his first child Fred, in memory of his late twin brother. * Luna Lovegood searches the world for odd and unique creatures. She eventually marries Rolf, a grandson of the famed naturalist, Newt Scamander.[7] Her father's publication, The Quibbler, has returned to its usual condition of "advanced lunacy" and is appreciated for its unintentional humour. * Firenze is welcomed back into his herd, who finally acknowledge the virtue of his pro-human leanings. * Dolores Umbridge is arrested, interrogated, and imprisoned for crimes against Muggle-borns. There have been transformations in the wider wizarding world: * Kingsley Shacklebolt is the permanent Minister for Magic, with Percy Weasley working under him as a high official. Among the reforms introduced by Shacklebolt, Azkaban no longer uses Dementors. Consequently, the world is now a "much sunnier place". Harry, Ron, and Hermione have also been instrumental in reforming the Ministry. * At Hogwarts, Slytherin House has become more diluted and is no longer the pureblood bastion it once was, although its dark reputation lingers. * Voldemort's jinx on the Defence Against the Dark Arts (DADA) position is broken with his death. There is now a permanent DADA teacher. * A portrait of Snape, who briefly served as Hogwarts Headmaster, does not appear in the headmaster's office as he abandoned his post. Harry intends to lobby for the addition of Snape's portrait, and publicly reveals Snape's steadfastness.
I assume a lot of people knew it, but I didn't and so I also assume some people don't know it. [editline]16th January 2011[/editline] Thank jeebus the awful Dolores woman was imprisoned.
I read through the 4-7th books all within one holiday because I was bored as fuck (at grandparents' house out of state). I got so fucking bored of it by the end.
I chose Prisoner of Azkaban because I'm a sucker for the time-turner scene.
I found the Goblet of Fire to be the best. The tournament and all that felt like a nice deviation from the usual "Voldemort is trying to come back" (the Prisoner of Azkaban had no Voldemort coming back but it was still heavily tied to it).

[editline]16th January 2011[/editline] Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Are Neck to neck
I don't think she's making another book.

Bought all the books, read 25 pages into the first one before I tossed them into the fire. I just watched the movies instead. So... Philosophers stone
I didn't enjoy reading any of these, but I did enjoy lord of the rings a lot more.
The books went shit after Sirius died.
-wingardium leviosa that was a stupid post-
Only problem with this series is how the werewolf is portrayed.
WORLOCKS ARE ENEMIES OF GOD AND HAD IT BEEN THE OLD TESTAMENT TIMES, HARRY POTTER WOULDVE BEEN PUT TO DEATH!!! /caps
7th one because everything turned to shit
I may be late, but wasn't the book called the SORCERER'S STONE... not Philosophers...?
I discussed this with a friend a couple of weeks ago. He was on the wiki or something and found out the US title, which had also been used for the films. We were wondering if they had to re-shoot a whole load of scenes to change the lines to "Sorcerer's Stone". Apparently the publishers didn't think a US audience would want to read a book with a word that they couldn't say in the title, or something along those lines. They also changed a lot of minor words like "Jam" to "Jelly" and "Scones" to... You know, whatever. You can't help but facepalm, since more or less all of the characters in the series are english, and talk very obviously like english people. Why would they take the trouble to edit out the smallest of cultural barriers relating to food when it's a staple of the story that it's all in Britain?
I've read the entire series, a few times. One of the best book series's I've ever read  I feel like most of the movie's didn't do it justice.
